Optimism NFT Purchasing Behavior
Introduction
Optimism is a fast, stable, and scalable L2 blockchain built by Ethereum developers, for Ethereum developers. Built as a minimal extension to existing Ethereum software, Optimism’s EVM-equivalent architecture scales your Ethereum apps without surprises. If it works on Ethereum, it works on Optimism at a fraction of the cost.
Optimism, as one of the largest chain at the moment, has its own NFT marketplaces and accepts NFTs on its network. ie Quix is one of the most popular marketplaces there.
Method
The goal of this dashboard is to give users an insight of the price distribution of NFTs that have been sold on Optimism. Principal indicators for investigation include:
> * Sales transactions count as number of sales by range ETH price & USD. > * Distribution of NFT sales by range of ETH price > * Percentage of sales volume above 0.01 ETH, above 0.1 ETH and above 1.0 ETH > * Mentioned metrics will be assessed in total and over time
For this I used optimism.core.ez_nft_sale table on Flipsidecrypto database.
:hourglass_flowing_sand: Overall View
The chart in right side shows the NFT sales metrics in total in log scale on Optimism network.
As of this chart can be seen that total number of sales NFTs transactions on optimism is over 176.5K, Total sales volume in ETH 25.3K and in USD is 5.64M.
Total count unique seller, buyer, Average/Max/Median/Min of sales volume in ETH & USD are presented, too.
✍🏻 Conclusion
- Most Optimism NFT trades occur at a price of less than 0.01 ETH. Not many of them are worth more than 0.5 ether. If we break down the numbers further, we find that 73 percent of transactions occur at or below 0.01 ETH, and 20 percent occur between 0.01 and 0.05 ETH.
- There have been a total of $176,5k in NFT sales on Optimism so far. Of these transactions, 35,400 were for more than 0.01 ETH, or about 20%; 6,400 were for more than 0.1 ETH, or about 3.4%; and 938 were for more than 1 ETH, or less than 0.5%.
- Optimism has seen a rise in the volume of NFT sales in recent months.
- Since the platform's launch, the proportion of transactions greater than 0.01 ETH has steadily fallen, from over 95% to below 20%. It appears that all of the percentages have declined.
- Optimism's low floor price is more prone to fluctuations, while the high floor price limit is more solid.

Optimism NFT Purchasing Behavior
What are we looking at on the current dashboard?
> Showing the distribution of all NFT sales on Optimism by price. What percentage of all sales have been above .01 ETH? Above .1 ETH? 1 ETH?
\n
Do you think that there is a limit to how high a floor for a NFT collection on Optimism can reach compared to on Ethereum?
Hey there 👋!
Firstly, I appreciate you sticking with it until the conclusion.
I'm Hamed, a civil engineering Ph.D.

I've made many similar dashboards and visualizations since I started at Flipside in January.
Please take a look at my various contact details and let me know what you think.
:hourglass_flowing_sand: In the PIE charts in the right tried to present the share and total amount of sales volume by distribution in ETH.
As of these visuals, by distribution of sales count based on range of ETH price, we can see how the major of sales count are at a price below 0.01 ETH. Few of them are higher to 0.5 ETH. In fact, if we take a look at the percentages, 73% of the sales are below 0.01 ETH, and 20% between 0.01 and 0.05 ETH.
In terms of sales volume; the major of the sales volume are with a price above 1 ETH, representing nearly 82%.
:hourglass_flowing_sand: The visuals right shows the percentage of distributions of sales volume as above three range of sales volume in ETH such as 0.01, 0.1 & 1 ETH in total.
As of charts right, can be observed that the count of unique buyers and sellers for the price less than 0.05 ETH is considerably more than other ranges.
Also its the deference between buyer count and number of sellers for range of below 0.01 ETH is too significant. (more than 17K).

:hourglass_flowing_sand: The following visuals shows the percentage of distributions of sales volume include three range of sales volume in ETH such as 0.01, 0.1 & 1 ETH over time.
As of first chart can be seen that the percentage of sales volume in ETH above 0.01 is steady over time. but in terms of sales count it dramatically decreased.
The percentage of sales count, peaked more than 3K in Sep 19th.
