Introduction

optimism network is a layer2 solution that is created to solve the scalability problems of the Ethereum network. The Optimism Network uses optimistic solutions (Optimistic Roll-up) to increase scalability. In this solution, optimism network by collecting and executing transactions on its network and sending them in a compact manner and in the form of a transaction to the Ethereum network, causes the scalability, speed of transactions and their Fee to be significantly reduced.

Users can use many bridges to transfer their Token between Main net and optimism, after they bridge they can interact with many project and benefit from lower gas, but it is interesting to find out which destination is the most popular between bridgers as the first one and with this information maybe we can find out why they bridge to optimism also

Method

• contract and summary on how I collected the data:

  • the bridge transcations that I used for finding first transcations after it, is belonged to hop, optimism native bridge and CbridgeV2
  • I have considered all the first transactions after each bridge in this dashboard, even if several bridges belong to the same person, I have considered all the first transactions after each bridge regardless of the user as the first transaction.

• our approach: for answering the bounty questions:

  we will check Top ones in All time, last 6-month, last 3-month, last 1-month and also in daily over last month

  First we will see which type of destination such as layer2,NFT, DEX and others have the most number of first transcations

  second which projects were Top ones.

  third we will check the token transferring in first transaction and find out which token transferred most and where mostly ?

  after that we go specific in each type To find out which project has the most number of first transactions in each type, for example if DEX projects had 100K first transcations, we will find out which DEX had the highest share of them

  In addition to all this, we may go into the first transactions for a platform in some sections in more detail to see the purpose of these transactions.

we must note that all dates and days here are bridge date and not transcations date, so for example if Aave had 13 first transcations on Oct 30, that mean the destination of first transcations of 13 bridges that happened on Oct 30 Oct were Aave

Chapter 1

Let's start our adventure in order to find the first destination of Bridgers with the top type of destination, we can see that when we consider all time, layer2 projects are favorite first destination for the bridgers which has about 306K transactions,, and the second ranks And third are NFT and DEX projects with 185.5K and 154.45K transactions respectively. In the last six months, the operator contracts, which are mostly related to the topic of delegate and airdrop, is in the top rank, which can be due to the OP airdrop distribution, and in the last three months, layer 2 projects, which are mostly bridges, with 7.3K first transactions is on the first rank, which means that the users after bridging to Optimism or started a specific activity on it, or they bridged to another network again. We can see that the rank of DEXs rose from second for the last three months to the first in the last month and were the first destination of users with 2.8K transactions. the competition between DEX and Layer2 projects has been very high, so that on some days DEXs and on some days Layer2 had the most first transactions, but in the end it was DEXs that took the lead.

By looking at the top 10 projects, we can see some interesting points:

1- As we said before, layer 2 has the largest number of first transactions with 306K transactions, and looking at the top 10 projects, I see that 215K transactions of them are related to hop.

2- In the last month, DEX project type had the first rank of transactions, and looking at the top 10 projects in the last month, I see uniswap in the first rank , which was also among the DEX.

3- hop and uniswap have recorded the best statistics in daily statistics and hop has performed better among these two.

Chapter 2

Usually, most transactions are accompanied by one or more token transfers, we can see that the most tokens transferred in the first activity after Bridge transaction are ETH and WETH, which have a total of nearly 480K transfers, and after these two, OP token comes as the second place with 148K transfer.

In the daily statistics, we see the superiority of ETH and WETH.

What projects or addresses were the destinations of these transfers? As we can see, most of these transfers are to normal user addresses, that is, about 287K transfers are to users' addresses, and hop ranks second with 223K transfers.

Chapter 3

We already understood that DEXs are a popular first destination among users who bridge to optimism, now we want to see which DEX has the most share among all the first transactions whose destination is DEXs, and the answer to this question is uniswap which has the most first transaction among DEXs in all time periods.

in the last one month, Velodrome and in the last three and six months, 1 inch has the second place.

The clear superiority of uniswap can be seen in the daily statistics of the last month.

Apart from UniSwap, Velodrome is considered an important platform in Optimism and the 2.5K first transactions after the bridge are related to this platform. As the first destination, what do users do most on this platform? We can say that about 997 transactions goes to the swap section of the velodrome

Chapter 4

Most of the first transactions whose destination is NFT projects belong to Mint or the transfer of NFTs from the Optimistic Explorer collection with about 119K transactions and the next ranks are uniswap and quix In the last month, three months and six months, the first place belongs to the Optimistic Explorer collection, and the second place is quix Now, out of the first 9.5K transactions whose destination is quix, nearly 3.2K transactions were aimed to trade mirror collection.

Chapter 5

As we have seen before, Dapp had a good share of the first transactions, so that if we consider all the times, about 37.3K transactions are related to Dapps, and of these, 26.2K transactions are for project galaxy and 2.2K transactions are intended for gnosis safe. In the last one month, three months and six months, project galaxy still has the most transactions in all of them, and also on a daily basis, we see its decisive superiority in most days.

Chapter 7

We saw that nearly 50K transactions after the bridge were destined for defi projects, and now we see that almost half of these transactions are destined for synthetix, which is one of Optimism's most important defi projects, of course, in the last one month, three months and six months. This project did not have the first rank and it was Aave that was the first destination among defi projects.

In the daily statistics, we see a large and diverse number of projects, but Aave has been able to contribute more in a large number of days.

Chapter 8

When we considered all the times, these layer 2 projects had the largest share among the first transactions after bridge, and now we can see that among these projects and considering all the times, hop protocol is the top with 215K transactions. and this superiority of hop has been maintained in all time periods such as the last month or the last three months.

If we want to go into the first transactions with the hop destination in more detail, we can see that out of these 215K transactions, about 56.4K transactions are related to the bridge to Arbitrum, which means that the user bridged directly to Arbitrum after the bridge to Optimism. Bridge to Ethereum and Polygon are also in the second and third places

Chapter 6

Some users may send their assets to CEX in their first transaction as soon as they bridge, and we saw that about 20.8K of the first transactions are for CEX, and Binance has the largest share with 16.6K transactions, as well as Binance's share in all time periods Including last month or the last six months is higher than other cex

An interesting point is that 20 transactions of the first transactions of those who bridged on October 30 were related to Binance and their destination was there.

Conclusion
