Introduction

    what is Flow?

Dapper Labs was founded in 2018 in Vancouver, Canada by Roham Gharegozlou. This company uses blockchain technology to create new opportunities for users around the world. Dapper Labs is the creator of the Flow blockchain system. Flow supports high performance ecosystems such as apps and games. Artists or bands can use FLOW tokens to create new and unique ways for their fans.

Games and players can create value for their assets and identity. Platforms and sports fans around the world can trade digital memorabilia in a verified, authentic and copyright-compliant manner.

    Method

summary on how I collected the data:

    summary

    • we extracted the transcations number and active/new addresses number with help of FACT_TRANSACTIONS table
    • to analyze flow speed performance we compared TPM/Block Time/transcations number per Block of Flow with Six other chains which Are Ethereum, Avalanche, BNB CHAIN, POLYGON, OPTIMISM and GNOSIS. we used FACT_BLOCKS for all things that we did here
    • I collected The Top contracts/Event with help of Events and DIM_CONTRACT_LABELS tables

our approach: for answering the bounty questions:

    we will have 6 sections:

    1. Flow network performance: here we will look on transcations number/active and new Addresses number in Overall and Monthly to see if there was any Big jumps in this numbers from the start of the year
    2. TPM: one of the main parameters that we will look at, and we will compare it to other chains in Overall and Monthly, we will have Both Average and Max TPM but wie will focus on Average in our analyses
    3. Block Time: here we will find out on what speed the Blocks generate on different Chains
    4. TX per Block: How many TX each Block has in Average and Max
    5. Top contracts/event: what were the Top contracts/event that active addresses of Flow contacted to see the relation between the performance and chain Events
    • some necessary definition base on provided data:

      ==TPM:== transcations number per minute

==BLOCK TIME==: The Time between Each Block

==TX per BLOCK==: number of transcations in each Block

If I did not write a limit in the title of the graph, it means that I have used all the data available on the flipside

    1. TPM

    Observations

The monthly average TPM has been in a very good increasing trend since the beginning of the year, so that we reached 909 in the month of November from 208 in the first month of the year. This upward trend cannot be seen in other Chains. In such a way that flow even surpassed Ethereum's TPM for the first time in November.

    Observations

If we do not consider FlowToken and FlowFee contracts, we can see that the contracts related to the Joyride platform and RLY Token have been able to rank first and second base on number of in 2022 transactions . And if we look at the monthly statistics, we can see that these two platforms, along with famous NFT collections such as NFL, have been able to take a very high share of transactions.

From these points, we can conclude that this increasing trend in the number of transactions and network performance can be due to the activities of users on these platforms.

    Observations

In the events section, you can see the footprint of the joyride platform as well JoyrideMultiTokenInfoEvent has managed to get the fifth place.

    Observations

    1. 70% of last year transactions have been recorded in the last six months, and number of Flow transactions has started a good upward trend since the beginning of the year, this is what we can clearly see in the monthly chart, from the beginning of 2022 the number Monthly transactions have started a strong upward trend and reached their peak in the previous month, November, which there was 39.2 million transactions.
    2. In the number of active addresses, as well as the number of transactions, with the beginning of the year, we are witnessing an aphasic trend, but this increasing trend was not continuous, so that we see very few numbers in the months of September, October and August, but in a very surprising way in the month of November managed to set a new ceiling and reach 5.4M active addresses, a number we haven't even come close to in the past.
    3. The noteworthy point in the monthly number of new addresses is that out of the 3.16M active addresses we had in June, 3.07M were new addresses.

    Observations

In terms of monthly average block time, Flow was around 2 seconds at the beginning of the year, but in the following months it was often under 1.5 seconds. Another important point is that in most of the months of 2022, Flow was ranked first or second in terms of performance (less time = better performance).

    Observations

In line with Flow's very good performance since the beginning of the year, we can also see in this section that the monthly average number of transactions within each block has also increased from 7.3 transactions in the first month of 2022 to 22 transactions in November, which means a growth of nearly 200%. . In this process, Flow was able to overtake Avalanche and Gnosis in the previous months and was ranked fourth after Polygon.

    Observations

Although we saw an increase in TPM, but with this increase, the percentage of failed transactions from this TPM did not increase significantly, and this can be a very good sign for FLOW.

    Conclusion

    1. The number of transactions has grown a lot since the beginning of the year, 70% of last year's transactions are related to the last six months, and we recorded a very high number of transactions in November, much higher than other months.

    2. out of the 3.16M active addresses we had in June, 3.07M were new addresses.

And more interestingly, June is the month when we first saw joyride and RLY in the monthly TOP 10 contracts, so we can conclude that these addresses are directly related to these two.

    3. flow TPM surpassed Ethereum's TPM for the first time in November.

    4. In terms of monthly average block time, Flow was around 2 seconds at the beginning of the year, but in the following months it was often under 1.5 seconds

    5. Flow monthly average number of transactions within each block has also increased from 7.3 transactions in the first month of 2022 to 22 transactions in November and was able to overtake Avalanche and Gnosis

    6. increasing trend in the number of transactions and network performance can be due to the activities of users on Joyride and RLY.
