Introduction

Anthony Hopkins, a Welsh actor, director, and producer, has seen his first NFT collection sold out in less than 10 minutes despite the overall soar market conditions and dwindling user interest in digital collectibles. Called “The Eternal Collection,” the project was launched in collaboration with NFT design agency Orange Comet and featured 1000 original cinematic art pieces inspired by different performances of the actor over his film career.

The body of work “conceptualizes an interpretation of the vast character archetypes Sir Anthony Hopkins has portrayed over his illustrious film career, drawing its potent energy from his stimulating body of art,” according to the collection’s description on OpenSea.

The archetypes’ names include “The Jester”, “The Lover”, “The Ruler”, “The Rebel”, “The Giver”, and “The Eternal,” each of which represents the various archetypal characters the actor has played throughout his prosperous career.

Hopkins has shown interest in Web3 and NFTs for some time now, most recently adding an ENS domain to his Twitter profile. He also starred in the sci-fi film Zero Contact, which was released via the NFT platform Vuele.

What makes the success of “The Eternal Collection” even more impressive is that the project had a splashy debut despite the overall bad market conditions, especially for NFTs.

What is This Dashboard About?

On the occasion of this rapid sale and in honor of Sir Anthony Hopkins! I am going to perform a deep analysis of mints, sales, and trades of the Eternal NFT collection. I am going to focus on this NFT’s Minters and check the first NFT mint date of these minters to see if they are old NFT minters or have just registered on this marketplace first time for miting Hopkins’s collection.

The main table that we are going to use for this analysis is ethereum.core.ez_nft_sales. Considering that Eternal NFT Collection’s Contract Address is 0x44d39e215c112c5aec6a733d691b464aa62b3f85.

Mints Stats

According to the above data, there are total 552 mint transactions for minting 1000 tokens made by 520 minters and total mint volume of $320k. The average volume of mints is 320 and the maximum is 322 usd.

On the left chart, we can see all 1000 NFTs were minted in less than 9 min , as said before, the fastest sold out collection on Opensea! The mint process has began on 19:45 UTC 13th October and ended on 19:52 !

We can see increasing activity of mints as time goes on to the extent that most number of mints have achieved on the last minute.

According to the above charts, users have maximumly done 3 mint transactions and most number of top minters have minted 3 tokens.

There is 1 user 0x0c394792c610041f8d174739ddb0ffe32b9d3324 which has minted 5 tokens but his/her total paid volume for mints is 0 and his/her only activity based on the OpenSea profile is only related to this collection. He/she also joined OpenSea on October 2022, meaning only because of this collection. So, I think this address is kinda related to the creator team or someone like that.

On the left chart, we can see the distribution of registration date of Eternal NFT minters over time.

As we see, there is a huge number of eternal minters who have done their first mint transaction on 13th October and mainly because of this Eternal NFT collection. We can conclude these users were loyal fan of Anthony Hopkins that only joined OpenSea for minting his NFTs as their first mint experience!

Overall Sales Stats

According to the above data, the total number of trades on the Eternal collection is 1218 Transactions made by 756 buyers and 783 sellers who have traded 734 tokens with total volume of 1.054M USD. So, 266 tokens (1000 – 734) were not being traded and seems are being held by their minters.

After looking these top 10 projects with most crossover with Eternal, we can not say there are the same category as Anthony Hopkins or art or similar stuff.

According to the left chart, Genuine Undead collection has the most purchasers crossover ratio with Eternal NFT and other NFT collections are also some top ranked NFT projects which their category is not the same as Eternal NFT.

Also we can see the most number of buyers (62.8%) usually hold their token less than 1 Day. almost 30% of buyers usually hold their tokens less than 1 week.

In an average day, there is 93.7 sale transactions on Eternal collection made by 70 buyers and 72 sellers with 81.1k USD volume.

On the above charts, we can see the highest activity and volume of Eternal NFT collection’s sales was on its release date (same date as its mint date), 13th October 2022. This means that most number of this NFT minters have immediately sold their minted tokens on marketplace.

We can see as time goes on, the activity of sales and traders on Eternal NFT collections is decreasing dramatically.
