Where do people go when they bridge to Optimism from Ethereum. What are the 10 most popular first destinations for users that have just bridged from Ethereum? What has this been for each day in the past month?

    Introduction

Optimism is designed so that users can send arbitrary messages between smart contracts on Optimism and Ethereum. This makes it possible to transfer assets, including ERC20 tokens, between the two networks. The exact mechanism by which this communication occurs differs depending on the direction in which messages are being sent. Optimism uses this functionality in the Standard bridge to allow users to deposit assets (ERC20s and ETH) from Ethereum to Optimism and on also allow withdrawals of the same from Optimism back to Ethereum. Methodology

In this dashboard, are going to check the first project/protocol (and their labels) that bridgers from Ethereum to Optimism interact with after bridging. (overall and over time during past month)

Moreover, we are going to check the first action (by event name) that these users done after bridging to Optimism. (overall and over time during past month)

According to the Optimism bridge docs, the contract address for bridging from Ethereum to Optimism is 0x99c9fc46f92e8a1c0dec1b1747d010903e884be1. (Optimism Native Bridge)

Note: ==I have excluded destinations which their label subtype is “Bridge” (since we are looking for transactions after the bridging process)==

According to the above charts, Uniswap project (swap routers and NFT positions) is by far the most popular project for new bridged users.

On the next ranks we have some other projects such as LayerDAO and Synthetix as the most popular destinations (project names)

On the above charts, We can see destinations that are labeled as DEX and NFT are the most popular destinations for newly bridged users to Optimism. there also some DeFi (token contracts) and Layer2 destinations on the next ranks.

In terms of emitted events, we can see Transfer on the first rank and Approval and swap transactions and also changing delegates are some other most emitted events.

Based on the above over-time charts, we can see Uniswap is leading almost all days during the past month. As we see, the most number of interactions with the Uniswap protocol has achieved on 1 September and also 15th August.

there are almost equal share of other destination projects on all bars over time.

in terms of labeled destinations, we can see NFT and DEX destinations on the first ranks.

the interaction with tokens have increased dramatically on 1st September and this can be related to the Uniswap project (based on the previous chart).

most number of interactions with NFT projects have also achieved on 15th August and this can also be related to Opening NFT positions on Uniswap (based on the previos chart)

On the above chart, we can see most popular destinations based on their address name for newly bridgers to Optimism. As we see, Uniswap project (swap router) has caused a high spike on 1st September and its Opening NFT positions has caused another high spike on 15th August.

Totally, Uniswap project is leading almost all days.

    Conclusion

    • There are several destinations that users interacted with them after briding to Optimism but the most popular one on the top is “UNISWAP” and its swap routers and NFT opening positions.
    • The most number of interactions of newly bridged users to Optimism has been achieved on 1 September and also 15th August.

And on the above charts, we can see Transfer event is leading on almost all days over time. The huge spike on 1 September is mainly because of Transfer events.

There is also another high spike on 11th August.

    What is Uniswap?

Uniswap is a program on the Ethereum blockchain for trading ERC20 tokens and also opening trading positions on various assets such as regular cryptocurrency tokens and NFTs. In contrast to most exchanges, which are intended to take trading charges, Uniswap works for public welfare. It is a tool for members to exchange tokens easily without paying any platform charges or dealing with negotiators. Uniswap Exchange is extremely safe, as it operates as a decentralized exchange and liquidity pool and is built on Ethereum, meaning it has the same security as the Ethereum blockchain. Since it is decentralized there is no central server to hack and gain access to users' funds.
