Uniswap on Optimism
Let's take a look at Uniswap on the Optimism Blockchain.
Introduction
After a long wait, UniSwap, one of the world's largest decentralized exchanges, announced on September 13, 2021, that this platform is now available on Optimism, using the scalability solutions of layer 2 on this blockchain. This update is a significant change in that we are all familiar with the advantages of layer 2, and the details are not discussed. We will go directly to the review of UniSwap data on the Optimism blockchain.
Methodology
Two of the essential services of Uniswap and other decentralized exchanges are:
-
swapping
-
providing liquidity
Therefore, these two topics are the main topics in the analysis given in this dashboard. First, the swap process in UniSwap is analyzed on the Optimism network and related charts using the data obtained from Flipsidecrypto. Then the providing liquidity on this DEX is analyzed.
Please note that the data for the last two weeks will be reviewed.

Observations
- The highest swap volume is related to USDC and WETH
- As it is clear from the lower right graph, on September 30, about 90% of Volume are related to the swap of these two tokens.
- After them, DAI and OP are in the next ranks.
- The largest OP swap volume occurred on October 6 and has grown significantly.
- In total, during these two weeks, USDC and ETH swap volumes were close to 100M USD.
Observations
-
The total volume of swap transactions in the last two weeks is about 106M USD.
-
This volume was made by 50.2K unique wallets and through 117.7K transactions.
-
The most significant swap volume occurred on September 30 and is equal to 23.93M USD.
-
The trend of the volume, number of transactions, and users are sinusoidal so that they decrease at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week and reach their maximum value in the middle of the week.
Observations
The above table provides complete information about each of the liquidity pools.
- Questions that can be answered using the above table and the following diagrams:
- Which pool had the most considerable liquidity volume input?
- On which day is the most significant volume of liquidity removed from the pools during the last two weeks?
- On which day were the most users active? And have they added or removed liquidity to the pools?
Observations:
- The most significant volume of liquidity has entered the USDC-ETH pool.
- OP-ETH pool is in second place with a volume of about 1.1M USD.
- In the graphs on the right, the pools with the most significant volume of entry and exit are shown based on the volume and number of users.
