ETH Staked
Let's take a look at the amount of ETH staked on the DEFI protocol Lido, which allows liquid staking of a number of crypto assets.
In the chart: Total Amount of ETH staked with Lido
• I select the sum of ETH Value sent to the lido staking contract from the Ethereum Core Table, using the origin function associated with staking native eth: '0xa1903eab'.
In the chart: 'ETH staked daily Lido'
• I select the sum of ETH Value sent to the lido staking contract daily from the Ethereum Core Table, using the origin function associated with staking native eth: '0xa1903eab'.
Lido's staking offering allows users with a variety of levels of technical knowledge and funds to stake Ethereum(ETH) in return for Staked-Ethereum(SETH). Users are free to use their staked ETH while their ETH is locked up, whereas users who staked directly with Ethereum have to wait until withdrawals of staked ETH are enabled on the Beacon chain. Over time we see that there has been a dip in the amount of ETH staked with LIDO after May 11th, before that point the amount of ETH staked on the platform had always been in the thousands. As recently as May 2nd we see the highest amount of ETH staked in single day in the last 3 months with 104.164k ETH staked. The UST deppegging become more pronounced as Mid-May approached having possible implications for DEFI as a whole.
The Total amount of ETH staked so far is 2.91 Million, over 2% of the supply of ETH.
