Did bridge activity spike over the last 7 days? If so, to what ecosystems?

    Introduction

    Axelar

Axelar provides a decentralized network and tools that help connect dApp builders with multiple blockchain ecosystems, applications, and users for frictionless cross-chain communication. Axelar consists of a protocol suite, tools, and APIs, designed to break down the barriers to cross-chain communication. Powered by a decentralized open network of validators; anyone can join the network, use it, and build on it.

The Axelar network makes cross-chain communication as simple as using HTTP/HTTPS protocols on the web. Platform developers can plug-in their blockchains to other ecosystems, and application builders can leverage a simple protocol and API to access global liquidity and communicate with the entire ecosystem. The Axelar team has deep roots in distributed systems, consensus, and cryptography. The venture is backed by Binance X, Coinbase Ventures, DCVC, Lemniscap, Collab+Currency, North Island Ventures, Divergence Ventures, Cygni Labs, and others.

AXL is the native utility token that powers the Axelar network. It's chain-agnostic, so its ERC-20 representations will live on all connected chains, including Ethereum. The wAXL ticker is recommended to be used for the ERC-20 representation.

Axelar network offers the following advantages:

    • For blockchain platform builders: Ability to easily plug-in their blockchains to all other blockchain ecosystems. Only a threshold account needs to be set up on the chain to plug into the network.
    • For dapps builders: Application builders can host their dapps anywhere, lock, unlock, transfer assets, and communicate with applications on any other chain via CTP API.
    • For users: Users can interact with all applications across the ecosystem directly from their wallets.

Axelar Network: Enabling Secure Cross-Chain Communication For Web3

Axelar provides Web3 users with secure cross-chain communication. With a single click, dApps users can interact with any asset or application on any chain.

In a nutshell, the Axelar network is a blockchain that connects other blockchains to enable global Web3 interoperability. The network is secured by Proof-of-Stake consensus, and permissionless protocols are used for message translation and routing. Axelar has been dubbed the “Stripe of Web3.”

    Axelar includes:

    • A collection of software development kits (SDKs) and application programming interfaces (APIs).
    • A decentralized network of validators.
    • Secure gateway contracts.
    • Consistent translation.
    • Routing architecture to support blockchain composability.

This allows developers to build on the platform that is best suited for their use case, in addition to having access to users, assets, and apps in every other ecosystem.
