Velodrome Health
Introduction
What is Velodrome?
Velodrome is a newly launched trading and liquidity marketplace designed to provide deep liquidity and low fee/slippage trades. Velodrome is supposed to be an improved version of the Solidly Exchange launched by Yearn founder Andre Cronje.
1- Swap status
Let us start with the status of swaps on this platform. In the following, you can see two charts, the right-hand side chart shows the volume of swaps, while the left side shows the number of swappers. The first feature that is very noticeable is the date of August 5, when the number of swappers and the volume of swaps has decreased greatly, which could be due to the hacking of this platform on that day.
The second feature was on July 29, when the volume of swaps reached its highest value. Also, on July 28, the number of swappers reached the maximum. On the other hand, recently on August 16, the number of swappers reached its maximum and more than 4100 swap addresses have been done on that day. Of course, unlike on July 28, when the number of swaps increased immediately after the increase of swappers, the number of swaps did not increase recently with the increase of swappers. The end of July and the whole month of August have received the largest volume of swaps and swappers in this period.
The chart below shows the 10 pools that have had the largest volume of swaps in this period of almost two months. The five pools with the largest volume of swaps are:
- OP/USDC
- WETH/USDC
- VELO/USDC
- WETH/OP
- USDC/sUSD
2- Vote/unvote status
What is my second favorite subject? The answer is voting…
The two line graphs below show good information about voting on the Velodrome pools. The left side shows the number of votes and unvotes daily transactions, and the right graph shows the number of voting and unvoting users. The number of vote transactions was higher than the number of unvote transactions on most days. The same conditions are observed for voters and unvoters. August 5 is the minimum point of both charts, which shows the impact of negative news on this platform. This platform has experienced the highest number of transactions and voters and unvoters in July and August. we can not find a steady trend in these graphs, but the trend of both graphs is generally upward and positive, which indicates improvement in the conditions of this platform in recent weeks.
3- Staking status
And finally, we will discuss the interesting topic of swaps. It can be said that the most popular part of this platform is the swap. In swap section, you can change different cryptocurrency pairs to each other. First, let's find a general information about the swaps on this platform. The following four tables show general information about swaps. It is clear that the amount of deposit into different pools is more than the amount of withdrawals from them, and the number of people who have deposited into these pools is more than the people who have withdrawn.
Summary
In summary, Velodrome is a newly launched trading and liquidity marketplace designed to provide deep liquidity and low fee/slippage trades. In this article, we have studied three different metrics of Velodrome in detail. These parameters are:
-
Swap status
-
Vote/unvote status
-
Staking status
The results show that first, August 5 was a special day in all these parameters, and practically on that day, this platform was in its worst condition and had almost no special activity. The second feature was on July 29, when the volume of swaps reached its highest value. Also, on July 28, the number of swappers reached the maximum. Thirdly, the number of vote transactions was higher than the number of unvote transactions on most days. The same conditions are observed for voters and unvoters.
Four, the amount of deposits into different pools is more than the number of withdrawals from them, and the number of people who have deposited into these pools is more than the number of people who have withdrawn. Finally, the largest amount deposited into the top five pools of this platform was on August 4th, when USDC/sUSD had the largest amount of deposits and on most days, the largest volume of deposits was in the USDC/sUSD pool, although it was not like this on some days.
In my opinion, if the date of August 5 is removed from these charts, the performance of this platform is moving forward and recently it has gained more users and capital than before.

An overview of this article
Before starting the article, let's see what is going to be discussed in this article. In this article, we are going to study three different metrics of Velodrome in detail. These parameters are:
-
Swap status
-
Vote/unvote status
-
Staking status
To extract the data of each of these parameters, different tables should be used. In this article, we will use the following Flipside tables:
-
optimism.velodrome.ez_staking_actions
-
optimism.velodrome.ez_lp_actions
-
optimism.velodrome.ez_votes
-
optimism.velodrome.ez_swaps
\
According to the data of Flipside tables, the 5 pools that had the highest number of voters are:
OP/USDC
VELO/USDC
VELO/OP
WETH/USDC
USDC/sUSD
All the information mentioned above is shown in the following two charts on a daily basis confirming the previous information. As you can see, on all days, the number of deposits to different pools of this platform was more than the amount of output.
Here too, the date of August 5 was a negative point in the performance of this platform, because the activity of this platform practically stopped or decreased greatly on that day.
At the end of July, this platform had the best performance in its swaps because the activities on it have increased greatly and have reached its peak. Although a relative decrease has been observed in recent months, the activity on this platform is currently at a higher level than in previous months.
The next diagram is one of the most complete and best diagrams in this article. First of all, this chart shows us that the largest amount deposited into the top five pools of this platform was on August 4th, when USDC/sUSD had the largest amount of deposits. Secondly, on most days, the largest volume of deposits was in the USDC/sUSD pool, although it was not like this on some days. On the 5th of August, the volume of deposits to all pools was very small. The stablecoins pool i.e. USDC/DAI pool is the second place after the USDC/sUSD pool which has the highest amount of deposits.
