Hello everyone! On this dashboard we are looking to users behavior after bridging to Polygon, one of the most popular evm chains crypto and find out what platforms and what contracts they will use on their first transaction after coming to Polygon from Ethereum chain.

On this analysis we are focusing on 2 bridges:

1. Polygon bridge:

2. Plasma bridge:

At first let’s find daily bridge transaction counts from Ethereum to Polygon:

14th Feb is the record holder of bridge transactions starting from 1st day of 2022 also 9th June has the lowest record of bridge transactions on recent year (we not looked at the last day of analysis due to the incomplete data).

If we look at right diagram we see more than %92 of bridge transactions are doing with Polygon bridge (almost 688k in total) while Plasma bridge transactions are about 56k having share of %7.5 of all bridge transactions.

We see total rate of bridge transaction to Polygon is decreasing, Personally I think this might have to reasons:

1. New L2 chains like Optimism and Arbitrum with so much hype around them and also airdrop possibility, so the users might change their destinations sometimes to that chains.

2. New multichain bridges like LiFi, Via, Hop and,… ,plus here also many of them have airdrop possibility!

After finding the bridge transactions per each day let’s get some information about users behavior.

(note: As each user might bridge to Polygon more than one time, for getting more clear information, we are focusing to each user action after the last time they bridge to Polygon)

Protocols the bridgers using:

Here we are focusing on the platforms, the users do thier 1st transactions on it:

As we see, Aave with ,more than %27 of all transactions, is the most popular platform for bridgers to interact with it , after Aave, Sunflower Land the famous gamefi project on Polygon is the 2nd and MetaMask the most famous crypto defi wallet is the 3rd platform.

(Note that interacting with MetaMask here means the using in app’s swaps feature by users)

Chainlink oracle and OpenSea NFT Store are the next ones here.

After finding the platforms Let’s see what contracts are the bridgers using:

Here we see lending pool contract (which belongs to Aave) is the most frequent contract used by the bridgers with %8.4 usage rate, after that MetaMask swap router (which we talked about it above) is the 2nd one by %7, sli token of Sunflower land, Chainlink token and OpenSea’s contracts are the other most used contracts here.

Here we see what category is used the most by the bridgers, As you see Defi with having more than 16.6k transactions, has %35.9 share here, after that there is close competition between NFT and Dex, NFT is the winner here and with 9.8k transactions is the 2nd most wanted here , Dex with 9.8k is 3rd, Dapp ,Layer 2 and chadmin is the next ones as you see.

After getting total information to bridgers destinations, Let’s take a closer look to top 10s here:

Aave is the most used platform by far with more than 12.5k transactions, Aave is most wanted transactions for the bridgers after coming to Polygon, Sunflower Land here with 4628 transaction in total is 2nd most used, and nuber 3 goes to MetaMask with 3272 transactions.

Now it’s time to look on the contracts:

As you see, Lending pool contract from Aave platform with 3897 transaction is 1st, Meta Mask inner swap contract with 3277 and Sli token of sunflower land with 2943 transactions most used here.

In the last chart we see each protocl’s share on top 10 used contracts:

Top 10 contracts belongs on 7 different platforms, Aave with having 3 contracts in top 10 has %34 share of top contracts in Polygon. Sunflower land and MetaMask are the next ones

Conclusions:

• %92 of bridge transactions are doing with Polygon bridge (almost 688k in total) while Plasma bridge transactions are about 56k having share of %7.5 of all bridge transactions.
• Aave is the most used platform by far with more than 12.5k transactions. Sunflower Land and MetaMask are next ones.
• Lending pool contract from Aave platform with 3897 transaction is 1st, Meta Mask inner swap contract with 3277 and Sli token of sunflower land with 2943 transactions most used here.
• Defi Projects are 1st selection of the bridgers, having more than 16.6k transactions and %35.9 share of all first transactions after bridging.
• Top 10 contracts belongs on 7 different platforms, having 3 contracts in top 10 , Aave has %34 share of top contracts in Polygon.
