Flow Speed
Measuring the number of transactions per minute of Flow blockchain since May 9th and comparing with 2 other Famous blockchains.
Hello! Today I'm reviewing Flow Blockchain performance!
For doing that I'll find total transactions per minutes (here I named it TPM) from 9th May 2022, plus that I'll find out the number of successful TPMs here.
This parameters can be a good metric for reviewing a the performance. so let's see:
This data shows that successful transactions has been hugely decreased during 25-31 May and 30th May has the worst performance record, also 13th May performance is not at the best too!
As we see, ALgorand has the best TPM in all days and just in one they there is a neck to neck competition between Flow and Algorand (31th may).
Besides Algorand, Flow has better TPM than Osmosis in most days.
But what kind of transactions is causing bad performance?! for knowing this first we should get familiar with Flow contracts:
Flow blockchain relies on a set of core contracts that define key portions of the Flow protocol and each contract have its label that shows the propose of making it.
In fact, each event on Flow can be known with its contract.
So If we found failed contracts in this timeframe, we can get our answer!
There is only 2 failed contracts! let's take a look to their definition:
-
FlowToken: This contract shows every $FLOW token usages in all the transactions of the blockchain.
-
FlowFees: introduces transaction fees calculation.
Let's go deeper and find out the percentage of this two failed contracts and also, the daily number of each contract failure:
So Flowtoken contracts Personally I think there is a bug in these contracts! and in some days it decreases the Flow performance badly!
Well, That's all! hope you like my research :)
