Whales On Alert
Visualizing the ETH transaction history of $eth whales in May and June 2022.
Hello everyone! On this dashboard we like to track the whales activity with $eth on the May and June 2022. Let’s take a look to whales definition at the first step:
Defining the whales method:
Firstly on this dashboard I’m focusing on the wallets only, meaning I’m looking at 2 type of accounts here:
-
Non- labeled wallets in flipsidecrypto’s data (As most of them are personal wallets belonging to the real people)
-
All available exchanges wallets ( Such as FTX, Binance, Kraken,…)
So the token accounts and some CEX based routers and contracts like (Mevbot, ….) are not including this tracking.
Finding the Whales
For selecting a wallet for a whale, at first I find the total $eth tokens stored in the wallets on this 2 months and all wallets having more than at least %0.0001 of this amount will be defined as a whale:
So 1949 different wallets are holding more than 6362 $eth and owning more %0.0001 of total 6.63B $eth available on the all wallets. So 1949 whales are detected by this filter. now after finding the whales let's take a look to $eth distributions between them:
We can see more than %82 of Whales are Non-labeled (or maybe personal) wallets, and between the Kraken-13 wallet has is the biggest whale between the exchange wallets.
Also Binance exchange with 6 different wallets in the whales has the highest wallet counts between all the exchange whale wallets.
Next 2 charts are showing the $eth balance of each whale (Kraken-13 with more than 128m, Binance-7 with 121m and 0x73BCEb1Cd57C711feaC4224D062b0F6ff338501e wallet with more then 116m $eth are the biggest whales here):
After finding the whales, let’s find Whales activity by each type of transactions:
We can see Transferring $eth to other accounts is most activity the whales did on May and June 2022, and 4.95m $eth has been sent by the whales in more than 86m transactions, meaning 0.05 $eth transfer on each transaction on average.
Receiving $eth is the 2nd common action here, In more than 72m transactions1.92m $eth has been received by the whales , which means 0.02 $eth on each transaction on average.
Next 2 charts are showing the biggest $eth senders and also the $eth biggest receiver whales:
Binance - 14 wallet which is the second big whale in holding $eth, is the biggest $eth receiver on May and June 2022 and received than 2.85m $eth on this period, after that gemini - 4 and and binance - 17 are in the next places.
