    • What are the most popular stablecoins monthly?

    • How has the impact of UST’s depeg affected the flow of funds in and out of various stablecoins on Algorand?

    Intro

The algorand foundation lists the next stablecoins oficially

    Method

    • Find which stablecoins are available on algo.
    • Also which ones are native to algorand an which others are housed in other chains.
    • Next, count the amount of times each asset has been part of a transaction.

    Analysis

    • In may, the biggest amount went for USDC with 86 millions.

    • Second by USDt with a big difference in volume transacted.

    • Followed by STBL with 1.1 Million transacted

    • Next would be GARD with almost 7k transacted.

    • Finally rUSD with 8.3 Units transacted.

    • Of the total amount of times a transaction has been made in Algorand, stablecoins are a really tiny part of it. Not to be confused with the amount in dollars they represent.

    • There is still room for growth in the Algorand's stablecoin space.

    Considerations
    • The reason the amount of assets is not displayed, is because some assets have their numbers in the exponentials. And unless some conversion is involved, the data is hard to represent accurately.

    • Since STBL became available its market share has been growing steadily, being native to Algorand is refreshing to see it grow between the two largest stablecoins in the crypto space.

    • GARD, being the other native stablecoin is also making a presence in the last months, while not substantial, its getting there.

    • While the competition between USDT and USDC grew, the lesser known stablecoins didn't make big waves on the network.

    • RealioUSD being the biggest of the bunch.

    • QCAD and TRYB had seen little activity on Algorand, which is understandably considering they are not native to Algorand's network.

    • The biggest amount of activities from stablecoins in Algorand came from USDC. With half the stablecoins activity.

    • Followed by USDt with 38%

    • STBL has been making its own mark even tho it had has only six months of activity.

    • GARD is less transacted than Realio for now.

... And since the UST depeg

    • With a little squint of the eye we can actually see how the volume of transactions grew during the crash.
    • As UST depeged, the levels of activity for Algorand's stablecoins spiked up.

    • With a rapid decline on the days after the crash.

    • And getting to high levels again on the end of May.

    • The overall activity on Algorand's network in stablecoins is low.

    • Mostly done by USDC and USDt.

    • Only recently STBL has been making itself present in the space.

    • Even though the total amount this last month is not as big as the others stablecoins, its volume in activity has been solidifying over time.

    • While UST depegged, USDC, USDt, STBL and GARD became highly active.
