Wallet Balances & Ecosystem Growth
osmo1fl48vsnmsdzcv85q5d2q4z5ajdha8yu3aq6l09 is top OSMO holder wallet of all time with 43,721,607,936 OSMO which was second top OSMO holder wallet in the start of the new year means it increased its OSMO tokens since 2022.
As we can see there are 44 wallets out of 100 wallets that stayed on top 100 list since start of the new year which means these wallets are among top 100 wallets that were on the list in the start of the new year and still they are on the list but 56 of them has been out of the list.
How has the ratio of liquid to staked OSMO changed overtime?
In chart below I have shown 2 ratios. first(blue) one is ratio of number of liquid OSMO to staked OSMO over time and second(orange) one is volume of liquid OSMO to staked OSMO over time.
I used where BALANCE_TYPE='liquid' and CURRENCY='uosmo'
and where BALANCE_TYPE='staked' and CURRENCY='uosmo'
conditions to separate liquid OSMO and staked OSMO
Are the top 100 OSMO holders the same now as they were at the start of the year?
In section below I have shown two bar charts representing top 100 OSMO holder wallets of all time and top 100 OSMO wallets on the start of 2022 based on their OSMO volume
and the single number shown represents wallets that are in both charts which means these wallets are among top 100 wallets that were on the list i start of the new year and still they are on the list.
I used where CURRENCY='uosmo' group by address order by 1 DESC limit 100
to distinguish all top 100 wallets and where date<'2022-01-01' and CURRENCY='uosmo' group by address order by 1 DESC limit 100
to distinguish top 100 wallets until 2022
What is the current average OSMO per wallet? How has that value changed over time? Plot average OSMO/wallet against user growth.
In section below single number represents average amount of OSMO that each wallet holds, area chart represents this value over time and bar chart compares this value against cumulative number of users of Osmosis chain over timer.
I used avg_osmo as ( select sum(balance/1e6)/count(distinct address) from osmosis.core.fact_daily_balances where CURRENCY='uosmo')
to find average OSMO per wallet,
avg_osmo_overtime as ( select sum(balance/1e6)/count(distinct address) , date from osmosis.core.fact_daily_balances where CURRENCY='uosmo' group by date)
to find average OSMO per wallet per day
and avg_osmo_overtime_users as ( select sum(balance/1e6)/count(distinct address) as avg , count(distinct address) as users, date from osmosis.core.fact_daily_balances where CURRENCY='uosmo' group by date)
to compare average OSMO per wallet per day vs user growth.
- Major trend of number of liquid OSMO to staked OSMO as shown above is bearish and it started from 1.83 from late December then decreased to its least value on mid March which was 1.63 then increased to 1.78 on late April and decreased constantly since towards 1.65 on mid October.
- Major trend of volume of liquid OSMO to staked OSMO as shown above is bullish and it started from 2.44 from late December then decreased to its least value which was 2 on early February then increased to 2.61 on early May and decreased constantly since towards 2.1 on early October then peeked to 2.85 on late October.
- There is 299K OSMO in each holder’s wallet averagely
- The average OSMO per wallet major trend is bearish which started from around 1.6K on early June increased and maxed out on mid December 2021 with 4.057K OSMO per wallet then decreased constantly towards 1.3K average OSMO per wallet on October.
- Number of users of Osmosis chain increased hugely(553 times) from June 18th of 2021 with 15 users to 8.3K users on July 18th in just a month, we see another leap on December 14th that got two times just in a day to 60K users, though users growth slope has been reduced since May 2022 but still growing, and at the same time we see also a leap(1.7 times) on OSMOs per wallet which it decreased significantly since that day.
- osmo1fl48vsnmsdzcv85q5d2q4z5ajdha8yu3aq6l09 holds most OSMO volume among all wallets which is 2.6 times of OSMO holded by second wallet which is osmo1jv65s3grqf6v6jl3dp4t6c9t9rk99cd80yhvld
- osmo1x3z2vepjd7fhe30epncxjrk0lehq7xdqe8ltsn holds most token volume among all wallets on Osmosis chain.
- As we see top 10 OSMO holders has been increasing their OSMO over time which has reached 355M on late October
- Although token holdings of top 10 wallets has been increasing but their increase was not as constant as OSMO holders and we see decrease in their token holding volume after they reach their maximum on late July
Conclusions
- Amount of liquid OSMO to amount of staked OSMO has been increasing over time which means users on Osmosis chain are unstaking more OSMO volume than staking over time.
- Number of liquid OSMO to staked OSMO has been decreasing over time which means users on Osmosis chain are unstaking more OSMO than staking over time.
- Only 44% of wallets are still on top 100 list since start of the new year.
- As OSMO holding per wallet decreases over time we see that user growth slope reduces as well.
- OSMO holders increasing their OSMO in more consistent trend than other toke holders.
