HODL or Sell?
Approach
The proposed approach has been drawn by these steps:
- Identification of Time period and accounts: We know that the ETH takes an important role on staking ETH by Lido. Also based on the question and my assumption, the time periods that price of ETH was over 4000 USD have been selected as chosen period.
So by this assumption and founded periods, the accounts that stake ETH by Lido have been disclosed.
ethereum.core.fact_hourly_token_prices with price_USD>=4000 -- for obtaining time period
ethereum.core.ez_token_transfers -- for obtaining accounts that stake
ORIGIN_TO_ADDRESS=lower('0xae7ab96520DE3A18E5e111B5EaAb095312D7fE84') -- staking ETH by LIDO
2. Type of action
when stake_vol>BALANCE then 'sell'
when stake_vol=BALANCE then 'hold'
when stake_vol
Question:
Q11. Identify accounts that have staked ETH with Lido when the price of ETH was much higher or much lower than it is now. Have they held or sold their stETH?
The first step as question said is about finding accounts and period of staking ETH on Lido.
According to the ETH price and assumption of over 4k price of ETH, 6780 unique stakers staked when price of ETH was over 4k.
After specifying accounts that staked ETH on Lido when the price of ETH was more than 4000 USD, the next step is investigating the actions done by these accounts.
Three action have been defined as hold, sell and minting more stETH.
According to the results:
- The number of accounts that hold stETH is 3106 unique wallets.
- The biggest share belongs to the holding action which refers to that from the chosen accounts 46% hold their stETH over until June.
- Its interesting that 22.5% of chosen accounts adding more stETH and enhance their balance by swapping from other assets.
- Furthermore, it can be seen that the 2138 unique wallets has been sold their stETH after staking in period that ETH price was over 4000 USD.
