ETH Deposited or Withdrawn on StarkNet L2 Layer

Q1. StarkNet is a layer-2 chain that ensures interoperability with Ethereum mainnet. People are using it to move real ETH to starknet and enjoy its higher speed of transaction and lower fees. How many ETHs have been deposited or withdrawn (bridged) so far from Ethereum to StarkNet or vice versa? and by how many depositors?

    StarkNet Overview

In the first step, we looked at the overall statistics of users' activity and the ETH volume deposited and the total amount of withdrawal.

    What is the StarkNet?

StarkNet is a permissionless decentralized ZK-Rollup. It operates as an L2 network over Ethereum, enabling any dApp to achieve unlimited scale for its computation – without compromising Ethereum's composability and security.

StarkWare (the company behind StarkNet) has established itself as a prominent Ethereum layer-2 scaling protocol and depends on its STARKs technology to reduce the amount of information sent to the Ethereum blockchain and alleviate blockchain congestion.

    Agenda

In this dashboard, we will analyze the following on StarkNet network:

    • Deposit/Withdrawal Activity Overview
    • Weekly/Daily Deposit/Withdrawal Activities
    • Weekly/Daily Active Users
    • ETH Price and StarkNet Daily Usage Correlation

    Key Findings

    • Ethereum deposit is much higher than its withdrawal volume, and since StarkNet has just begun its main activity, this is a very clear future for the project.
    • The volume of deposit ethereum is much lower than the number of depositors, and it seems that most users deposit a small volume of ethereum on the network, or indicate that users for low -volume transactions of Ethereum, come to this project.

Now let's examine the amount of deposited/withdrawn ethereum on daily basis.

    • From the ninth May to about two weeks, we have seen a large volume of ethereum deposits on Starknet, which has declined slightly in recent days.
    • The cumulative amount of deposited Ethereum value is the promise of the rapid growth of the platform in the near future.
    • The amount of ethereum withdrawn is much lower than the volume of the deposit.

We do the same analysis on the amount of users' welcome and the number of users daily:

    • The user activity diagram is almost similar with the deposited Ethereum volume chart, indicating that we do not have a very high volume of deposit or high number of activities per user (such as bots).

Does the price of Ethereum affect users' behavior?

See the following two charts to check out when users use StarkNet more.

    Takeaway

    • *By reviewing the last two charts as well as the statistics we have obtained in the first part (average of 0.02 for the volume of ethereum deposit), we find that *users when the price of the ethereum is high and the need to transfer or use the low ethereum volume for a specific task, they come to StarkNet to minimize the cost of their transaction.
