    Introduction

This dashboard will investigate what the data for NFTs on Polygon is looking like. I will look into the following aspects:

    • The daily MATIC volume for Polygon NFTs in the past 30 days
    • The daily transaction number for Polygon NFTs in the past 30 days
    • The cumulative sums for both the volume and the transaction number
    • The all-time totals: the total number of buyers, total number of NFT transactions, the total USD volume
    • The number of users who have started off with Polygon’s NFTs
    • The top 15 addresses that have made the most profit off of Polygon’s NFTs.

    Key points:

    • We can see that the number of NFT transactions has been quite stable in the past month, with the first chart telling us that there were between ~ 45k and ~ 70k daily transactions in the past month. This is also visible on the cumulative sum, which is slowly growing but the growth is not exponential.
    • There have been some small spikes in the volume of MATIC, such as on the 23rd of June where 88.5k of MATIC was traded for NFTs. In the next section I will look for some correlation between the sudden increase of buyers or a larger number of transactions to explain some of these spikes.
    • The count of buyers seem to also be quite stable, with no less than 13k buyers minimum every day - which is a good number!

The scatter graph shows us that the bigger the MATIC volume is, the more buyers of Polygon’s NFTs there are. This is the sort of correlation we would expect, which also implies that users on average are all buying similarly priced NFTs, as we cannot really see here a low count of buyers with a huge volume of MATIC.

Another correlation that I was examining was the one between the number of transactions and the MATIC volume. Here we can see that with more transactions, more MATIC is being traded - which is the correlation we would normally expect. However, on some days, such as on June 28th, we can see a high transaction count with lower than expected MATIC volume, which implies that on that day users were buying cheaper NFTs on average than usually.

As we can see, over 900k of users started off with Polygon with an NFT-related transaction - that’s a big number!

Lastly, let’s investigate which addresses have made the most profit overall by trading Polygon NFTs!

    Conclusion

This dashboard has looked into Polygon’s NFTs - I have investigated how the picture is looking like on a daily basis (for the past 30 days), as well as what the all-time total numbers tell us. We have looked for some correlations between the MATIC volume and the number of NFT transactions, as well as the daily count of buyers. Lastly, I have also looked into how many all-time users started off with NFTs and which addresses have made the most profit off Polygon NFTs!
