Velodrome Locks
Analyse new locks created on Velodrome Finance. Analyse new locks created on Velodrome Finance. What durations are most common? Which wallets have locked the most in the last 4 weeks? Which pools are wallets voting for with their locked tokens most often?
Introduction
In this dashboard, I will investigate the locking behaviour of Velodrome Finance. I will look into the following aspects:
- What durations are users locking their assets for?
- Which wallets have locked the biggest amounts overall?
- Which pools are voting the most?
The analysis in this dashboard has been written using parts of the sample query provided by Flipside. I had to copy&paste chunks here and there to be able to decode the inputs data. I had to also manually label most of the 20 pools investigated using the Optimism scan, which means I have probably missed out on some pools - but I made sure to include the most important ones.
As we can see, the biggest number of users are locking their assets for 4 years - which is the maximum locking period. When we look at the amount that is being locked, the most money is locked for 1 year instead of 4. What does this imply? It means that more whales are interested in the 1 year lock duration compared to smaller users who are locking less significant amounts.
Next, let’s look at which wallets have locked the biggest amounts overall.
VELO-USDC is the pool with the biggest count of votes - which makes sense, after-all this is the native token of Velodrome Finance! We can also see quite a lot of votes in the OP-USDC pool, as well as WETH-USDC and VELO-OP.
Conclusion
This dashboard has looked into what durations are users locking their assets for in the locks provided by Velodrome Finance. I have also investigated which wallets have locked the biggest amounts overall when looking at all-time data. Lastly, after a painful manual labelling of 20 of the Velodrome pools, I was able to find that the most votes are found in the VELO-USDC pool, followed by OP-USDC and WETH-USDC pool.
