    Introduction

Decentralized applications (smart contracts), commonly known as dApps are the bedrock of every smart contract platform. Arbitrum aims to be the smart contract of choice with much better user experience than its mother chain Ethereum. Stakeholders of Arbitrum might be wondering which dApps has attracted more users to the network. This dashboard seeks to provide a concrete answer to the question but before that let’s look at the general outlook of dApps on Arbitrum.

    Key Facts

    • Over 900 dApps have been created on Arbitrum
    • dApps have generated 233+ ETH in fees so far
    • In June 2022, 39 new smart contracts were created
    • In July 2022, 11 new smart contracts have been created
    • Hop protocol is the most popular dApp on Arbitrum, followed by Treasure DAO, GMX, Aave, Dopex, and Sushiswap
    • As expected, Hop has generated the most gas fees for the Arbitrum network.
    • By finding the gas averages, it was also noted that Hop users pay more in gas fees.

    Conclusion

The race for the most critical dApp has a clear winner and it is the Hop Protocol. Hop is responsible for onboarding about 3.9m Arbitrum users, representing 56% of total users at the time of this writing. It is believed that Hop achieved this due to the promised incentives of airdrops. However, it can also be argued that they are not the only cross-chain bridge that supports Arbitrum.

It is my humble suggestion that Arbitrum stakeholders develop stronger partnerships with Hop since they are obviously doing something right.
