Introduction
What is AAVE protocol?
Aave is a decentralized lending protocol that lets users lend or borrow cryptocurrency without going to a centralized intermediary. Users deposit digital assets into "liquidity pools," which become funds that the protocol can lend out.
What is stkAAVE
When a user stakes AAVE in the Safety Module, the user receives an equivalent amount of stkAAVE in return, and starts accruing rewards in AAVE. The user is then able to claim the rewards at anytime.

Methodololgy
This article focuses on the AAVE network and its supply and withdrawals. Table "flipside_prod_db.aave.deposits" is used to extract daily AAVE supplied and withdrawn on Aave protocol and "ethereum.core.fact_event_logs" table is used to calculate the amount of stacked and unstacked AAVE. The time frame of the present analysis is from January 2020 until today.
1- Daily AAVE supplied and withdrawn on Aave protocol
1-1 Daily AAVE Supplied
The chart below shows the daily chart of AAVE supplied on Aave protocol. The chart has been drawn since June 2020 and has reached local peaks many times but reached its highest value on December 13, 2021. The chart does not have the same trend over this period of time and has almost gone through three big waves. The peak of the chart has been in April 2021 to early 2022 and has recently declined significantly.
1- 2 Daily Withdrawals from AAVE protocol
The second chart is a daily analysis to show the amount of withdrawals from AAVE protocol. This chart has peaked several times but has had a few big peaks. The highest amount withdrawals from AAVE protocol was on October 29, 2021 with more than 7 billion USD, followed by December 13, 2021. The amount of withdrawals from this protocol has decreased recently, which could be due to the bear market situation.
2- AAVE staked and unstaked
The second part of the article is about the staked and unstaked amount AAVE on the AAVE protocol. To better understand this issue, a daily chart and two tables have been drawn, the first one showing the daily AAVE staked and unstaked and the second one showing the total amount staked and unstaked AAVE.
2-1 Daily AAVE staked and unstaked
The following chart shows the daily AAVE staked and unstaked on AAVE protocol. On some days, the amount of staked AAVE is more than the amount of unstaked and vice versa. On October 21, 2020, the highest amount of staked AAVE was made on the AAVE platform. In general, it can be said that in October 2020, there was a huge amount of staked AAVE on this platform. The most unstake event amount was on May 11, 2022. Recently, in the month of July, the amount of AAVE staked on the AAVE platform has increased significantly, while the amount of unstaked AAVE has been much less.
Conclusion
In this article, we studied two parameters of the AAVE platform:
1-Daily AAVE supplied and withdrawn on Aave protocol
2- Daily AAVE staked and unstaked.
The results showed that:
1- The AAVE supplied on Aave protocol chart shows that it has reached local peaks several times but reached its highest value on December 13, 2021. The peak of the chart has been over a period of time from April 2021 to early 2022 and has recently declined significantly.
2- The highest amount withdrawals from AAVE protocol was on October 29, 2021, with more than 7 billion $, followed by December 13, 2021. The amount of withdrawals from this protocol has decreased recently.
3- On October 21, 2020, the highest amount of staked AAVE was made on this platform. In general, it can be said that in October 2020, there was a huge amount of staked AAVE on this platform. The most unstake event was on May 11, 2022. Recently, in the month of July, the amount of AAVE staked on the platform has increased significantly, while the amount of unstaked AAVE has been much less.
4-The total amount of staked AAVE is much higher than unstaked AAVE.
