Aave Delegates' Gas Usage

How Aave Governance spent Ethereum Gas?

Today I'll be showing how Aave is spending gas on Ethereum through its governance, before explaining the objective of the dashboard I'll define some key terminology.

    • Aave is an Ethereum-based protocol that offers automated crypto loans. Users can deposit cryptocurrency as collateral and borrow other cryptocurrencies (Investopedia).
    • Aave Governance consists of the proposition and decision-making proccess for the different risk parameters changes, improvements and incentives that constitute the policies, and upgrades to governance itself (Aave Docs).

Governance is executed with proposals and users (wallets) can participate in these proposals becoming voters after making a simple transaction (vote) in the Ethereum network. There are more factors involving governance but because the main goal of this dashboard is to show how much gas in Ethereum the voters spent when they vote in these proposals these other factors will not be mentioned or discussed.

To reach this goal I'll show Gas Usage through transaction fees, whenever a voter is trying to make a vote is going to had a transaction fee  and regardless of the transaction success or failure that fee is paid in Ethereum's native currency ($ETH), but because this currency price changes overtime, I'll be showing also the gas fees in $USD for a better overview.
