    • Q115. Using the following App ID lists from Folks Finance, AlgoFi, Tinyman, and AlgoDex, lets look at what percent of transactions their app calls and associated transactions(transactions in the same tx_group_id) make up on the Algorand blockchain.

    • How have the number of transactions changed over time for each Protocol? Also how much in fees have been spent on transactions relating to each protocol? Other things that can be explored are what type of transactions are each protocol producing, or has the price of ALGO been an influence on the number of transactions produced by each protocol.

    Introduction & Methodology

    • DEXs are the favorite applications for the majority of users, a marketplace were buyers and sellers can trade without the full intervention in every step by a 3rd party.

    • Today I’ll look at the activity of these DEXs in the Algorand Blockchain.

    • For the methodology, using Flipside’s data bank table:

      • flipside_prod_db.algorand.prices_swap: To get Algo Price
      • flipside_prod_db.algorand.application_call_transaction: To get DEXs Activity and Application Calls.
      • flipside_prod_db.algorand.transactions: To get the transactions in Algorand.
    • In the SQL code there is the respective credits.

    Analysis

    • At the start of the year, there is a halt in Tinyman activity, because an exploit which drops the activity, and raises the activity of other protocols, and it can explains the Algo price spikes/valleys in that period.
    • Tinyman activity resumes with a stronger activity in January 19, but after that Algofi dethrones Tinyman as the favorite DEXs in Algorand.
    • There is a stronger spike on activity in February, correlated when Algo price goes in a downtrend, after that another spike is present in May which can be correlated when FIFA announces their partnership with Algorand, and the Luna/Terra crash.
    • Algo Price goes in a downtrend, like the activity of protocols on Algorand too.
    • Tinyman has the strongest number of transactions, but this include failed transactions, for example in January a lot of these transactions were made by the exploit, after that the activity is really low in the later months in comparison with the start of the year.
    • Appl is the favorite type of transactions made by protocols in Algorand.
    • Algofi and Tinyman have the most fees volume in the later months.
    • AlgoDex and Folks_Finance doesn’t have presence in the Algorand Blockchain, in the past months like the other protocols their activity is very low, in contrast to May/April activity.

    Summary

    • Tinyman and Algofi are the protocols with most activity in Algorand Blockchain, AlgoDex and Folks Finance doesn’t have too much presence in the Algoverse.
    • Like the Algo most of the DEXs and proyects in Algorand seems to be in a downtrend in comparison with the start of the year.
    • Algo price seems to have been the reason of the spike in activity from February 2022.
