    • osmo1fl48vsnmsdzcv85q5d2q4z5ajdha8yu3aq6l09 The number 1 Holder of OSMO seems to have a really good year having almost triplicate their OSMO during the year. This isn’t the case for the rest of the top OSMO holders, which only a few of them remains at the top in the current date and their OSMO didn’t change too much as the number one.
    • The average OSMO per wallets seems to be 920, Staked OSMO holders have less than this and Liquidity OSMO holders have more than this number, The average seems to change a lot in the year (mostly because of new OSMO wallets) but in the later months this number seems to increase.
    • OSMO is the asset most holded by wallets, 1/3 of these wallets may have ATOM, but OSMO seems to be the asset most used in the Osmosis environment. Although a lot of new assets seems to be popular and may reach the 1/3 as ATOM such as ECH/ION/USTC.

    Simple Definitions

    • DEX: A peer-to-peer market where users can buy and sell assets (Crypto-tokens) without giving their private keys to an intermediate.
    • Liquidity Pools (LPs): DEX have their assets to swap(trade) in pools, where people can change one asset for another using the assets in these pools, Users can provide liquidity to these pools an be “investors” who stake their crypto-tokens on DEX’s LPs to earn “transactions fees” when users swap their tokens using these pools.
    • Total Value Locked (TVL): The current total value of an asset in a protocol, or a LPs or in a blockchain node.

    Methodology

    • Using Flipside Databank tables:
      • osmosis.core.dim_prices: To get the Balance in USD of the tokens
      • osmosis.core.fact_daily_balances: To get the Wallets Balance on Osmosis.
      • osmosis.core.dim_labels: To get the Names of the Tokens in Osmosis.
    • SQL presents respective credits.

    Question

    • How has the ratio of liquid to staked OSMO changed overtime?
    • Are the top 100 OSMO holders the same now as they were at the start of the year?
    • What is the current average OSMO per wallet? How has that value changed over time? Plot average OSMO/wallet against user growth.
    • Do wallets normally hold a majority of OSMO, or another token? How has this changed over time?

Osmosis presents a strong increase on OSMO balance in July 2022 onwards, in both staked and liquid.

OSMO wallets holders seems to increase strongly in the Q1 of 2022, but slowly in Q2&Q3.

Locked Liquidity OSMO holders are a few and only appear at the end of the May 2022 which goes from 1(min) to 36(max) only to decrease and mantain at 33 holders.

Average OSMO per user seem to decrease over time, which correlates with the strong increase of users in the Q1 of 2022, but thanks to the strong increase of OSMO Balance on July 2022 this average increases a lot for liquid and staked holders.

Nowadays avg OSMO per staked wallets seems to decrease in October, not for Liquid holders which stays close to the 1000 OSMO per wallet.

Locked Liquidity avg OSMO fluctuates at the end of May (arrival of new users) only to decrease and stay still in June 5 (if we don’t count the 3 users which left days after).
