Introduction

In this dashboard, we will look into the:

1. Percentage of Solana that has been transacted is staked.

2. Percentage of Solana staked throughout the month of January.

3. Average amount of Solana staked during a staking transaction.

Method

To complete the query, I apply the following filter to Solana staked, Solana transactions.

1. instruction:programId = 'Stake11111111111111111111111111111111111111'
2. event_type = 'split'

The figure above shows the percentage of Solana that has been transacted is staked.

• 0.001455% of Solana that has been transacted is staked.

The graph above shows the percentage of Solana stake throughout the month of January.

• The largest single-day of SOL staked occurred on January 26th, with almost 3.5% of SOL transacted on that day being used for staking.

• Followed by 8th January with only 1.9% of Solana staked, which is still much higher than the remainder of the month.

The average amount of Solana staked during a staking transaction is 371. When you consider the current Solana price, which is roughly 37,100 USD per staking transaction, this is considered quite exorbitant.

Next, I use block_timestap >= '2022-01-01' and day <= '2022-01-31' to determine the percentage changed throughout the month of January.

Conclusion

• Because only a small percentage of Solana has been staked, users are inclined to trade their SOL rather than to stake it.

• However, the average amount of SOL staked in a transaction, is extremely high. This means that whenever users opt to stake their SOL, they are staking a significant amount of SOL.
