Introduction
Gnosis is a decentralised exchange and a blockchain software development organisation that provides decentralised prediction market platform built on the Ethereum blockchain. However, majority of blockchain protocols struggle to scale and are unable to manage with high traffic volumes.
In this dashboard we will look into the Gnosis protocol’s botters in comparison to normal users. To begin, we will look at the daily percentage and number of transactions executed by bots vs normal users, as well as the percentage and number of bots vs normal users per day. Next, we will examine the total number of transactions executed by Bots vs Normal users and the total number of Bots vs Normal users.
Botters Definition
Botters will be identified as distinct wallets with an unusually high quantity of transactions. For this dashboard, a wallet with more over 300 transactions in an hour will be classified as a bot. This also suggests that an average of 5 transactions were executed per minute for an hour, which is extremely high.
- The graphs above shows the daily number of transactions executed by bots vs normal users (Bar Chart), and the percentage of transactions executed by bots vs normal users (Area Chart).
- As can be seen, the number of transactions executed by normal users are higher than bots on most of the days.
- The number of transactions on Gnosis reached an all time high on May 30th with over 110k transactions executed. However, 43.37k transactions were executed by bots, whereas normal users executed 67.1k transactions.
- Furthermore, the number of transactions executed by bots have exceeded normal users from June 7th to June 9th. During these 3 days, bots have executed average 50k transactions per day and normal users have executed roughly 45k.
- However, after June 9th, the percentage of transactions executed by normal users have increased considerably.
- Since then, normal users were averaging around 80% to 55% each day.
- This suggests that normal users on Gnosis are more active than bots, which is an extremely positive sign.
- The graphs above shows the daily number of bots vs normal users (Bar Chart), and the percentage of bots vs normal users (Area Chart).
- Despite the fact that the number of transactions executed by bots have exceeded normal users on some days, there were not more than 50 active bots on a daily basis.
- To put into perspective, the number of normal users peaked on June 13th, with a total of 6.27k normal humans transacted in a single day. On the other hand, the number of bots peaked on June 10th with only 42 active bots transacted.
- Out of all the unique wallets that have transacted each day, the percentage of normal users were around 99%, and the percentage of bots transacted have less than 1% on most days.
-
The distribution charts above shows the total number of transactions executed by Bots vs Normal users and the total number of active Bots vs Normal users.
-
As can be seen, bots on Gnosis have executed more than 1.5 million transactions. The percentage of transactions executed by bots account for 33.4%.
-
On the other hand, normal users have executed 3.05 million transactions or 66.6% of all transactions, precisely double the number of transactions executed by bots.
-
Finally, on Gnosis, there are a total of 58.05k active normal users, whereas only 56 bots were active.
\
Conclusion
- On Gnosis, the number of normal users and transactions executed by normal users outnumber bots on most of the days; this is an extremely healthy sign for Gnosis.
- Moreover, the daily proportion of normal users were 99%, while the proportion of bots were about 1%.
- Normal users have completed 3.05 million transactions, accounting for 66.6% of all transactions, precisely double the amount of transactions completed by bots.
- However, there were only 56 total active bots, whereas 58.05k normal users were active.
