AXL/OSMO pool Introduction

On the 26th of September 2022, Axelar’s AXL/OSMO pool has passed governance in Proposal 333 with 93.28% of the users voting YES. Support for pre-authorizing OSMO incentives for the OSMO/AXL pool on Osmosis is expressed by OSMO stakers. Following that, the pool will was added to the regular incentives program of OSMO after created on September 27th and had begun the onboarding process.

Dashboard Introduction

In this dashboard, we will look into the hourly activity of AXL/OSMO pool after being created on the 27th of September. Next, we will also analyse the trading activity of Osmosis DEX over the past 60 days and determine if there was any significant changes in trading activity due to being in a bear market.

Approach

1. Main table used: osmosis.core.fact_liquidity_provider_actions, osmosis.core.fact_swaps
2. Because AXL is a relatively new token, the price is not yet shown in the table I was using. Therefore, to calculate the TVL of AXL/OSMO pool, I take the amount of OSMO deposited and multiply it by two.

Osmosis DEX Analysis

• The metrics above shows the details of AXL/OSMO pool’s activity since it’s inception on the 27th of September .
• As can be seen, during the first hour of launch, the pool had the highest volume with 1.75 million USD deposits and 434.16k USD withdrawals.
• Furthermore, most of the liquidity added into the pool occurred on the first hour of release with a total of 1.31 million USD net deposits.
• The total amount deposited to the pool is around 5 times more than the amount withdrew as of 28th of September, with 2.33 million USD deposits and 434.30k USD withdrawals.
• As a result, the net liquidity in the AXL/OSMO pool is 1.89 million USD.
• A total of 299 deposit transactions has been executed, whereas only 2 withdrawal transactions were executed.
• Out of all the deposit transactions, 68.6% of the transactions are deposited by using AXL and only 31.4% are OSMO.

Conclusion

1. AXL/OSMO pool analysis:

   • With a total of 1.31 million USD in net deposits, the majority of the liquidity added to the pool was achieved during the first hour of release.

   • As of September 28th, the AXL/OSMO pool has $1.89 million USD in TVL.

   • There have been 299 deposit transactions and only 2 withdrawal transactions made.

2. Osmosis DEX analysis:
   • The daily number of active swappers and swaps executed on Osmosis DEX range from 10k to 12k swappers and 35k to 55k swaps executed.
   • However, since the third week of September, daily swappers and swaps executed have declined and remained fewer than 10k swappers and 40k swaps on most days.
   • OSMO and Atom are the most swap to and from assets over the past 60 days.
   • This is extremely reasonable as OSMO is the native token of Osmosis, therefore it is the most popular token.

• The metrics above shows the details of the trading activity on Osmosis Pool over the past 60 days.
• On Osmosis DEX, around 35k to 55k swaps were executed for majority of the days.
• However, the number of swaps appear to decline on September 18th with only 25.52k swaps executed, making it the lowest over the past 60 days. Since then, the number of swaps have remained below 40k on most days.
• Nonetheless, over the past 60 days, Osmosis DEX have executed a total of 2.27 million swaps.
• The number of active swappers on Osmosis DEX saw a similar trend with the daily swap executed, due to the fact that daily swappers have declined since the third week of September and stayed below 10k swappers per day.
• The top tokens to swap from or to are relatively identical.
• With OSMO and Atom being the top swapped to and from tokens over the past 60 days.
• All of the top 10 tokens have more than 30k swaps.
