$OP Airdrop (Redux)
What is the Question?🚨
Earlier this year, Optimism offered an airdrop to users. Let’s examine the airdrop after a few months.
How many users claimed optimism airdrop? How much of total airdrop was claimed? How many wallets are still holding tokens from airdrop? How much of users delegated their OPs?
Feel free to provide any information that you think is related to token price.
Analyzed Topics:
- Overall and Daily Claimed $OP
- What did Users do with Their Claimed $OP?

Method⚡
In this dashboard i analyzed Optimism airdrop that happened on May 31th 2022 and explored what happened after that event and what did claimers do with their claimed $OP after a long time that passed (Over 5 months).
I used ==Optimism.core== database provided from Flipsidecrypto and mainly used ==“optimism.core.fact_token_transfers”== table to grab all the data that i needed.
I filtered OP airdrop data with the specific airdrop contract address:
==“0xfedfaf1a10335448b7fa0268f56d2b44dbd357de”== and also used event_name=’claimed’
to find claimers stats.
Earlier this summer, Optimism hosted an airdrop on May 31th and the charts and analytics that you are going to see are since May 31th 2022 until now November 16th 2022 .
Findingsđź‘€
- These charts are showing daily and overall number of claimers and their claimed $OP amount since May 31th.
- The peak of claimers and OP amount that claimed by them was on June 1th with almost 73K Wallets and 68.78M OP amount.
- After June 1th, these stats got a down trend and started to drop slowly and dropped almost 99% from back then until now.
- Over 150K wallets claimed 159.8M OP token in past 5 months since June.
- Over 150K of people who can claim, claimed their $OP and over 97K didnt claimed yet (60% of users claimed and 40% didnt claimed yet).
- Almost 55M OP amount still have not been claimed yet.

- In this section i showed that what dud users do with their claimed $OP and either hold it or not.
- 43.7% of claimed amount transferred to somewhere else by claimers.
- Most of claimers used DEXs like Uniswap, 1inch, 0x, Velodrome or Sushiswap after claiming their OP tokens and brought them there to do whatever they want like swapping it to another token.
- Over 50% of airdropped OP used in DEXs after airdrop.
- As we see in right pie chart, 51% of claimers didnt hold their OP and somehow converted them to something else.
- Over 110K claimers (73.5%) delegated their OP in multiple platforms and almost 39K (26.5%) didnt delegate them.
- Most of users chose Linda Xie to delegate their assets (15K) and in the second place they chose Quixotic NFT marketplace and went for flipping NFTs (13.22K).
- Rest of delegators chose multiple platforms/users to delegate and the number of distribution on those platforms/users are pretty much the same.
- Transfer is the most popular action that users took after claimed their airdrop with their $OP with over 684K transactions followed by DelegateVotesChanged with over 607K transactions and Swap in the third place with over 361K number of transactions over time.
