FLOW User Retention vs Other Chains

How sticky are the users on Flow? Create a detailed analysis comparing user retention on Flow vs. other L1 chains like Ethereum and Solana. How often do users who make a transaction come back and make another transaction one month later? How do monthly active users compare between chains?

    Introduction

    What is Flow?

Flow is a blockchain platform that originally was designed for gaming purposes, but has expanded since its launch in 2020. The flow blockchain enables fast, low-cost transactions and supports smart contracts. It powers blockchain applications including NBA Top Shot, a non-fungible token (NFT) offering.

    What is chain crypto?

On-chain transactions refer to cryptocurrency transactions that occur on the blockchain and remain dependent on the state of the blockchain for their validity. On-chain transactions are considered valid only when the blockchain has been updated to reflect the transactions on the public ledger.

    Method

In this dashboard, I compared the number of users and transactions of Flow with Osmosis ,Cosmos, Algorand, NEAR, Avalanche, BSC, Ethereum, Solana and Terra and Y chains since the beginning of 2022.

I used core.fact_transactions table in other chains for this analysis.

Then I got the number of active users (those who were already members of the chain and had transactions in the last 1 month) in each chain.

I got the users who have been members of the chain since the beginning of the 2022 and had transactions in the last 1 month for each chain.

Except Algorand and Solana, which I compared the number of users based on the previous 2 months due to the high number of transactions.
