Aftermath of SEI Airdrop

    Introduction

Effectively conducting a token airdrop poses a significant challenge for every blockchain project. Projects employ diverse strategies, each with its own set of advantages and disadvantages, making it difficult to immediately evaluate the outcomes or predict their impact.

The SEI mainnet was launched in mid-August, introducing the $SEI token and its associated airdrop. As is often the case, some recipients were delighted, while others who received minimal amounts or missed out on the airdrop were dissatisfied. Assessing the effectiveness of the chosen strategy amidst this event was initially challenging. However, now that nearly two months have passed, we are better positioned to analyze its impact.

This dashboard is dedicated to airdrop claimants, examining how their activities and profiles have evolved over this two-month period. The primary objective is to shed some light whether the airdrop strategy successfully targeted the right wallets in terms of activity and profile.

    Method

In this dashboard, we begin with an overview of the number of airdrop claimants and the associated volume. Subsequently, we delve into an investigation of how the activities of airdrop claimants—specifically, their transactions, swaps, and transfers—have evolved over time. Throughout this analysis, we maintain a constant focus on comparing these trends with those of non-airdrop claimant users.

Following this, we shift our focus to an examination of the current profiles of airdrop claimants, with a particular emphasis on their $SEI token balance. We assess how this balance has changed over the course of two months and determine the percentage of $SEI that has been withdrawn from the wallets of airdrop claimants.
