Daily stETH Metrics
This dashboard investigates ETH staking and unstaking activities on LIDO.
Introduction
Lido is a liquid staking solution for ETH 2.0. Employing Lido, users stake their ETH without locking assets or maintaining infrastructure and receive stETH against it in 1:1 rate.
stETH, then, can be used for DeFI activities on LIDO ecosystem, such as Curve, and Blaster liquidity pools. While the staked ETH cannot be withdrawn or unstaked with LIDO, stETH can be swapped to ETH anytime. We can define this action as unstaking ETH.
This dashboard investigates ETH staking and unstaking activities on LIDO.
The graph below shows the daily number of stakes and unique stakers over time. We can see that the upward trend starting from the beginning of the year has turned into a downward trend since the beginning of April.
The graph below shows the average staked amount per day.
We define unstaking when users swap their stETH for ETH. There are two pools available on Uniswap and Sushiswap for this swap. The data shows that the average time of staking is more than two months,
The graph below shows the amount of stake vs unstake over time.
The graph below shows the relative amount of staked ETH vs unstaked ETH. We can see that while for a long time staking was dominant, recently unstaking has been more frequently executed rather staking.
Summary of findings
In this dashboard the following metrics are addressed:
>> Daily volume of stETH | Number of stakers over time | Average stake size | Average time staked | Staking/unstaking per day
The results reveal that:
- After an increase in staking ETH in March and April, since early May the volume of ETH staked sharply and significantly has decreased.
- The daily number of staking actions and unique stakers also after an upward trend starting from the beginning of the year has turned into a downward trend since the beginning of April.
- The average stake size has been recently decreased significantly.
- The average time of staking is about two months and a week,
- While for a long time staking was dominant, recently unstaking has been more frequently executed rather staking.
