WHAT IS OSMOSIS (OSMO)?
Osmosis is a decentralized exchange built on the Cosmos ecosystem. It is built on the Inter Blockchain Communication Protocol – that allows development of cross chain decentralized applications. Osmosis also allows integration with non IBC blockchain bridging to Ethereum [ETH] and Polkadot [DOT]. The dex also offers Superfluid Staking – a mechanism that allows participants to add liquidity and make the chain secure.
WHO ARE THE FOUNDERS OF OSMOSIS?
Osmosis was developed by the core members of the Cosmos ecosystem. Sunny Aggarwal and Dev Ojha from Sikka and Tendermint. Josh Lee and Tony Yun from Keplr, the Interchain Wallet.
HOW DOES OSMOSIS WORK?
Osmosis is secured by a proof of work consensus protocol with a validator set. Osmosis works on a similar protocol to Bitcoin. Like Bitcoin has a ‘Halving’ scheduled, Osmosis token issuance follows a “thirdening” schedule that cuts the issuance each year. The dex also has customizable liquidity pools.
Osmosis offers a flexible solution that allows them to self-identify opportunities and react to them by adjusting parameters. Users can adjust the slippage, transaction fees, and more. The platform offers equal rights to all the participants to make the defi market more inclusive with fractional ownership. The users actively participate in the decision making to make the platform secure from vampire attacks.

The left-side chart illustrates information about OSMO token price at all times.
In the past, the Osmo token had the highest price, with approximately 10 dollars on March 4, 2022, which was the highest price at all times. After that, Osmo price had significantly decreased to around 0.7–0.9 dollars and has maintained this prices throughout the present.
