Flow - NFL All Day
Introduction
Towards the end of the 2021 season, Dapper Labs revealed its long-awaited NFL All Day platform to the masses. It’s the sequel to its highly successful and popular NBA Top Shot product. NFL All Day is a company, owned and operated by Dapper Labs, that allows users to buy and collect digital football highlights from the NFL. The whole thing is backed by the NFL and all highlights are officially licensed by the league.
In this dashboard, we are going to analyze the NFL All Day series with different attributes such as total volume, daily volume, daily sales number and average price. And at the same time we are going to compare it with Top Shop collection.
Approach
The flow.core.fact_nft_sales
table is mainly used to collect all required data about nft sales. the name for Top Shot collection in dataset is A.0b2a3299cc857e29.TopShot
and the name for NFL All Day collection is A.e4cf4bdc1751c65d.AllDay
.
The data is available from April 20 to the present day, which is the period used in this study.
Daily Volume
By looking at the charts below, it can be seen that:
- There are some sharp spikes in volume during April on both collection.
- Both collections have seen a decrease in daily sales volume.
- During June 16 to June 22, NFL All day collection has seen zero daily volume, this could have been due to maintenance or malfunction. the NFLALLDAYUpdate twitter account had spoken of some maintenance happening during that period.
- The Top Shot collection has seen a reduction of daily volume during the same period.
Daily Average Price
The average daily price for each collection can be found here. The NFL All Day collection, with an average price of 35.9 FLOW, is more than 80% more expensive than the Top Shot collection, with an average price of 19.5 FLOW.
On the following charts, the daily average price for each collection can be seen, both collection has seen higher prices on May 19.
Observations
Let's conclude our observations:
- The NBA Top Shot NFT has sold a total of 3 times more than the NFL All Day collection.
- Both collections have seen a decrease in daily sales volume.
- During June 16 to June 22, the All Day collection has seen some downtime.
- The end of April has been a good moment for the sales volume of both collections.
- The NFL All Day is in average a more expensive collection than Top Shot collection
