    Q104. We now have Solana Realms governace data! Their team would love to be able to see a list of DAOs / multisigs built on SPL Governance.

    Introduction

    Realms provides a platform for builders on Solana to create a DAO, manage their members, vote on proposals, and allocate their treasury. Whether you are running a multisig, NFT community DAO, or community token DAO, Realms has the tools and integrations to help your community flourish.

    Most Active Times of Day

    The following chart shows the most active times of day and most active times in each week. Activity means the number of votes cast on each hour.

    It can be seen that:

    • Voters are most active after 10:00 to 23:00.
    • On Mondays, voters are even active in the morning.
    • There is less voting on Saturdays.
    • On Wednesdays, user are less active during the morning, most votes are cast after 13:00 on this day.
    • On most days, around 19:00 is the busiest time.

    The following chart shows the address of the top voted proposals for DAO.

    Tables

    Solana Realms governance data is included in the solana.core.fact_proposal_votes table, we are using it to conduct out study.

    Method

    We have used the Realms website and found the DAO addresses by querying the table mentioned using the Proposal ID from each DAO. By having these addresses we could query for information required in this study.

    Duration

    We are using all the data available, data is available since Dec 1, 2021.

    This Study

    In this dashboard we are going to take a deeper look into DAO activities metrics of some of the top DAOs active on Realms platform.

    The platforms studied are:

    • Mango
    • Grape
    • Psy Finance
    • Solend
    • MonkeDAO
    • Metaplex
    • Jet
    • Serum
    • The Imperium of Rain
    • Synthetify

    The metrics that are studied are:

    • Member Count
    • Vote Count
    • Proposal Count
    • Average Vote per Proposal
    • Average Voter Per Proposal
    • DAO Creation Date
    • DAO's Last Proposal Creation Date
    • Most Voted Proposals
    • Most Active Times of Day

    Creation Date

    Let’s look at some important dates, the following charts depict the creation date of each DAO and the creation date of the last proposal of each DAO.

    It can be seen that:

    • Serum and Mango are the oldest DAOs amongst selected DAOs, both created on Dec 1, 2021.
    • Solend is the newest DAO created.
    • 5 of the selected DAOs are created after 2022.
    • It's been a while since the Solend and Synthetify had a voting. Their latest proposal dates back to June 2022.
    • 6 of the selected DAOs had a their latest proposal on August.
    • Grape had a proposal two days ago, on 16th August.

    General Metrics

    The charts below show general metrics for selected DAOs. These charts are sorted by DAO name, so the charts are consistent and easy to explore.

    By looking at the following charts the following information can be inferred:

    • Imperium of Rain has the most members. With over 1,300 voting members, it has approximately 3.1 times more users than the next DAO, Grape, which has 418 members.

    • Although Grape has less member than Imperium of Rain, It has most number of votes, more than 2700 votes, Imperium of Rain follows closely with 2400 votes. Mango and MonkeDAO also have a respectable amount of votes (more than 1500 votes)

    • MonkeDAO had the most number of proposals, followed closely by Mango.

    • It seems that It’s Solend that has the most active community==, It has the most number of voters per proposal, followed closely by Imperium of Rain. Jet also has a more active community among these DAOs.

    • With over 100 votes per proposal, Solend and Imperium of Rain have the highest average votes per proposal. Jet and Grip stand at the next levels.
