In this dashboard, we want to analyze the market share of Sushiswap and Uniswap on Polygon, Arbitrum, and Optimism.

1 - 1 What is Sushiswap

Sushi is a community-driven organization built to solve what might be called the “liquidity problem.” One could define this problem as the inability of disparate forms of liquidity to connect with markets in a decentralized way and vice versa. 2 - 1 What is Uniswap

The Uniswap protocol is a peer-to-peer system designed for exchanging cryptocurrencies (ERC-20 Tokens) on the Ethereum blockchain. The protocol is implemented as a set of persistent, non-upgradable smart contracts; designed to prioritize censorship resistance, security, self-custody, and to function without any trusted intermediaries who may selectively restrict access.

2 - Number of swaps

Methodology

• To calculate the number of Sushiswap swaps in each chain:

  • We use the [sushi.ez_swaps] table related to that chain. For example, we use the [polygon.sushi.ez_swaps]table to calculate the number of Sushiswap swaps in Polygon.

  \

• To calculate the number of Uniswap swaps in each chain:

  • First, we use the [fact_event_logs] table related to that chain. For example, we use the [optimism.core.fact_event_logs]table to calculate the number of Sushiswap swaps in Optimism.

  • Then, from the [fact_event_logs] table, we filter records whose Event_Type = 'Swap' and whose ORIGIN_TO_ADDRESS equals Uniswap Swap Router address.

• The total number of Sushiswap swaps is 4.707M which is 79.7% more than the total number of Uniswap swaps on Polygon(2.619M swaps).

• The highest number of Sushiswap daily swaps was recorded on 2022-06-13 (20350 swaps), 2022-06-15 (20304 swaps), and 2021-12-20 (19217 swaps).

• The highest number of Uniswap daily swaps was recorded on 2022-09-23 (24546 swaps), 2022-09-15 (23744 swaps), and 2022-10-06(22096 swaps).

• The highest number of Sushiswap monthly swaps was recorded on 2021-12 (587563 swaps), 2022-01 (393263 swaps), and 2022-02 (356651 swaps).

• The highest number of Uniswap monthly swaps was recorded on 2022-09 (474476 swaps), 2022-08 (356675 swaps), and 2022- 07 (320153 swaps).

• The ratio of the number of Sushiswap swaps to the number of Uniswap swaps was in a downtrend from December 2021.

• From December 2021 to June 2022, the number of Sushiswap swaps was more than the number of Uniswap swaps, but after that, the trend was reversed.

  • This trend change also can be seen in the daily and weekly charts.

• The highest number of Uniswap daily swaps was recorded on 2022-08-31 (29305 swaps), 2022-09-08 (28112 swaps), and 2022-08-30(27624 swaps).

• The highest number of Sushiswap monthly swaps was recorded on 2022-09 (518541 swaps), 2022-08 (281018 swaps), and 2022- 10 (218582 swaps).

• The highest number of Uniswap monthly swaps was recorded on 2022-09 (584265 swaps), 2022-08 (274486 swaps), and 2022- 10 (197891 swaps).

• In the last 7 months, except September and April, the number of Sushiswap swaps has been more than the number of Uniswap swaps.

• The number of swaps in the last 3 months (October, September, and August) has increased in both Sushiswap and Uniswap compared to previous months.

The total number of Sushiswap swaps is 11.588K which is a very small amount compared to the total number of Uniswap swaps on Optimism(1.655M swaps).

• The highest number of Sushiswap daily swaps was recorded on 2022-06-01 (1013 swaps),2022-06-02 (303 swaps), and 2022-08-18 (257 swaps).

• The highest number of Uniswap daily swaps was recorded on 2022-06-01 (31847 swaps), 2022-09-21 (24931 swaps), and 2022-07-29(22277 swaps).

• The highest number of Sushiswap monthly swaps was recorded on 2022-06 (2932 swaps), 2022-09 (2844 swaps), and 2022- 08 (2383 swaps).

• The highest number of Uniswap daily users was recorded on 2022-06-01 (21714 users ), 2022-06-02 (9992 users ), and 2022-10-14 (8137 users ).

• The highest number of Sushiswap monthly users was recorded on 2022-06 (1286 users ), 2022-09 (1223 users ), and 2022-08 (833 users ).

• The ratio of the number of Sushiswap users to the number of Uniswap users was in a downtrend from December 2021.

• From December 2021 to July 2022, the number of Sushiswap users was more than the number of Uniswap users, but after that, the trend was reversed.

  • This trend change also can be seen in the daily and weekly charts.
