    Introduction

    What is Flow Blockchain?

Flow is a blockchain that is designed for extensive scaling without the use of sharding techniques, providing fast and low-cost transactions that make sense for dapps such as NFT marketplaces and crypto-infused video games. As mentioned, Flow hails from Dapper Labs, which decided to solve its blockchain congestion problem head-on by building one primed for games and other interactive experiences. Dapper is now using Flow for all of its own projects, including NBA Top Shot, but it’s open to other developers as well. Flow uses a proof of stake consensus mechanism that requires validators to stake a certain number of FLOW tokens to participate in the network. However, the way that validation works is unique amongst blockchains, as Flow splits validation tasks into four separate types of nodes: consensus, verification, execution, and collection. All four node types participate in the validation of each transaction.Dapper says that splitting up the tasks makes processing transactions more efficient than on rival blockchains. It’s an alternative option to sharding, or spreading out the storage and computational needs of a blockchain across numerous nodes. Flow does not use sharding, and by doing so, Dapper says that Flow keeps transactions atomic, consistent, isolated, and durable (ACID), and allows developers to build on each others’ work.source

    What are NFT games?

NFTs are unique digital collectibles on the blockchain. This feature makes them suitable to use in games as representations as characters, consumables, and other tradeable items. NFT games have become popular in the Game-fi world as a way to earn income. You can sell your in-game NFTs to other collectors and players and even earn tokens with play-to-earn models. NFT games are different from just holding crypto-collectibles in your wallet. An NFT game will use NFTs in its rules, mechanisms, and player interactions. For example, a game could represent your unique character or avatar as an NFT. Digital items you find while playing the game could also be NFTs. You can then swap or trade your NFTs with other players for profit. A newer, play-to-earn model also allows you to generate income from NFT games which we'll discuss more later. So how do you take NFTs and technically implement them into a game environment? To swap, create, and implement NFTs within a game, developers create smart contracts that make up the rules for the NFTs used. Smart contracts are self-executing pieces of code stored on a blockchain. source

    What is NFL ALL DAY?

NFL All Day is a company, owned and operated by Dapper Labs, that allows users to buy and collect digital football highlights from the NFL. The whole thing is backed by the NFL and all highlights are officially licensed by the league. Currently the only way to gain an NFL All Day highlight is by purchasing packs, but a marketplace is soon to be launched. So what is it all exactly? With the use of the blockchain (you know, the computer stuff that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are based on), Dapper Labs created a digital collectible marketplace for NFL highlights. The use of Blockchain allows for these moments to be impossible to hack or even duplicate, which is the draw to these moments. Think of it in the same vein as collectible cards. You own the physical copy of these cards. Someone else may have the same card, but you have your own specific version. That is almost exactly what these All Day highlights are. Owning a highlight, you own that version of the moment and you are the only one with that serial number. Each NFL Highlight (the items you collect in All Day) are officially licensed NFL digital collectibles. Picture them as digital trading cards, but instead of a static image they are little clips of highlights from NFL games that you “own” digitally. For example, you can own a piece of Tyreek Hill’s touchdown in that awesome Bills/Chiefs game, or Tom Brady’s final touchdown in the NFL! These highlights all have a certain amount minted. source
