$ARB DAO Allocation

1.13% of ARB Allocations have been sent to DAOs within the Arbitrum ecosystem. If you were the Arbitrum Foundation, how would you allocate these tokens across DAO users, and why? • It is clear that the top 10 DAOs have received about 40% of total airdrop distribution, which shows how valuable these DAOs are for the Arbitrum ecosystem. Of these, Treasure DAO and GMX have the first rank with 8 million $ARB, followed by Uniswap with more than 4 million $ARB.

    Introduction

    • In a March 21 Twitter thread, Arbitrum said the airdrop was not a retroactive grant. Instead, it was a way of empowering the sub-communities on the layer2 network to localize governance decisions.
    • Arbitrum added that the airdrops would be distributed only to projects with a DAO and a community treasury. However, it made an exception for The Protocol Guild, a collective of Ethereum core developers and contributors.
    • Arbitrum said it considered factors like the project’s deployment date alongside whether it was multi-chain or native to its ecosystem. Other factors considered include the transaction volume, the total value of assets locked on the project, and native liquidity moved to the ecosystem.
    • It added: “The hope and intention is that by distributing to Arbitrum DAOs, we’re able to spread governance power more widely amongst users than solely allocating to those who were eligible for the airdrop.” read more
    • The list of airdrop allocation between DAOs can be found using this link.
    Arbitrum DAO Airdrop
If I was in charge of airdrop allcation
    • The first thing I would do is find the most valuable projects and DAOs on my ecosystem using different parameters like transactions, unique users, generated fees, used gas, and the average statistics of each parameter. I would then use these parameters to rank the projects and divide the considered amount between them based on priority.
    • Using the above tables, it is clear that the most of the top 10 airdrop reciever DAOs are the same with the current DAO airdrop list, but the main difference is the allocated amount to each DAO. As we see the ranks are different with the Arbitrum foundation list and thats maybe because they have used other parameters to decide how much token to allocate to each DAO.
    • In my list Hop protocol is the leading Airdrop reciever with more than 11M $ARB followed by GMX and Stargate finance.
