    Introduction

    In this dashboard, We will try the investigate governance performance on Osmosis chain.


    Governance tokens

    Governance tokens are a type of cryptocurrency that allow tokenholders to vote on the direction of a blockchain project. The primary purpose of governance tokens is to decentralize decision-making and to give holders a say in how the project is run.

    Methodology

    We will use the following parameters:

    • overview of votes, voters, and proposals submitted and executed and Proposals Stats
    • the top proposals with the highest engagement ratio since the beginning of 2023 to Feburary 22.

    Whole data on this dashboard will be filtered from January 1, 2023, until February 22, 2023.

    Observations


    • The total and average number of votes and voters since the beginning of 2023 until February 22 are shown in the charts above.
    • The noticeable part of the above charts is the sudden increase in the number of new voters on January 7, which can be seen using the daily and cumulative charts.
    • But the greatest number of votes and voters were on February 22.

    Observations


    • Proposal #94 had the greatest number of votes (45.8K from 44.6K unique users), followed by #93 with 36.4K votes from 35.8K unique users.
    • Votes and voters in the 5K-to-10K range have the greatest share.

    Observations


    • As it was predictable, the most number of executed votes' choices was YES while the second most popular vote option was No.

    • The majority of executed proposals are Text. in Cosmos, Community Pool Spend has the second rank.

    • The share of voting and non-voting users fluctuates over time, but the visible part is that the voting users are dominant on the daily charts and make up about 60% of total users.
