OP #2 Drop Review

Optimism Foundation sent OP directly to users for the #2 Airdrop. NOTE THE FOLLOWING CAVEAT: We look at all transfers from OP Foundation after 2023-02-08 of the OP token. This pulls in miscellaneous grant distributions incorrectly. But as a % of total tokens it should be negligible for the purposes of categorizing actions.

Categorization saught to be exclusive, but in cases where an address might fall under multiple categories, it is assigned the first category in this order.

Note: Action is the sum of all sends and receives (not counting claiming/receiving from Airdrop token distributor).

Note: Buffers of 1-3 OP used strategically to avoid being tricked by dust actions.

    • HODLer: Under 1 OP of total action. Includes weird dust accounts doing $0.0001 Uni v3 actions, etc.
    • Dumper: Sending entire claim to DEX without receiving from DEX, CEX, or other.
    • Exchanger: Sending entire claim to CEX without receiving from DEX, CEX, or other.
    • Hedger: Sending only part of the claim to DEX or CEX without receiving (or splitting between DEX/CEX).
    • Trader: Sending more than the claim to DEX or CEX and receiving from DEX or CEX.
    • Intermediary: Sending claim or more to other without receiving from DEX or CEX. Possibly a Farmer.
    • Farmer: Sending claim or more to DEX or CEX while receiving from only other (possibly Intermediary).
    • Other/Mixed Actions: Any other combination of actions not captured by the above categories (e.g., hedge/intermediary who sends less than claimed. Or just a generally active Arb user that doesn't trade).

Please note the LOG scale. Due to dust actions, some categories may counterintuitively not have the expected send/receive volume.

    • Send combines DEX + CEX + Other transfers by claimer
    • Receives combines DEX + CEX + Other transfers to claimer (excluding transfer from distributor contract).
