Open Edition Mints
A high level analysis of open edition mints on the Ethereum blockchain
Clarification
Took a look at all NFT mints first to see which projects are the most popular when it comes to the number of NFTs minted.
However, I've applied a requirement that all NFTs within the project had to be minted within a month.
These were potential candidates for the Open Mint Analysis.
I've refrained from using them as we'd filter out and neglect the projects with a small (but potentially valuable) supply. Also, this list doesn't only contain 'Open Edition NFT' mints. But it's a good start.
EndClarification
The focus here is on NFTs that are minted using the Zora platform.
Zora seems to be using a Factory contract which makes it relatively easy to select all projects which are 'Open Edition NFTs' by selecting only those that have an edition size of '18446744073709551615'.
As we can easily observe, some of the projects listed here are also seen in our previous tabel. But we're now certain that they're 'Open NFT Edition' mints from Zora.
Clarification
The Manifold mints seemingly weren't done through a factory contract.
However, their documentation lists 5 projects that they give as an example. Those are the ones showcased here.
The projects seemingly have a good variety in the number of NFTs minted, time between first and last mint which made them an interesting target for the analysis.
Clarification
As the assignment is made for Rarible, I thought it'd be wise to take a look at their 'Open Edition NFT' mints as well.
It seems that most of them were done on Polygon and have a limited amount of data available.
Conclusion
Both the Zora and Manifold Open Edition NFT mints seem to be an interesting target for the analysis.
I've decided to go with the Manifold data as there's a time restriction on the assignment. A lot of effort already went into the exploratory analysis which somewhat restricts us for the second part of the assignment.
The Manifold projects are - seemingly - distinct enough from one another which should be sufficient to look at the minting process as well as the secondary sales afterwards.
The full analysis can be found under the 'Manifold' tab on top of the dashboard.
