Osmosis Governance

Create a dashboard that maps community participation in governance. On average, how long does it take for a new wallet to become active in Osmosis governance? Do wallets that are active in governance vote on every proposal? Or do they only vote on select proposals?

    Osmosis

    • Osmosis is an advanced automated marketing (AMM) protocol that allows developers to build custom AMMs with strong pools of liquidity. Osmosis is built using the Cosmos SDK and uses the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) feature to enable intermediate chain transactions. The Cosmos ecosystem follows the "blockchain as decentralized program" architecture; This means that osmosis is a blockchain connected to the cosmos hub, which is also a decentralized exchange.

    • With the help of the IBC, osmosis connects to the entire ecosystem of the Cosmos chain and more than $ 10 billion in indigenous assets. After supporting active blockchains on the Cosmos hub, the goal of this project is to connect to other chains such as ethereum and Bitcoin.

    • osmosis allows users to create liquidity pools with unique parameters. For example, as you know, in regular liquidity pools, two tokens with equal ratios must be added; But in this project, multi-ratio pools can be created. The structure of Osmosis rewards is also compatible with these capabilities.

In the following table, using the two tables fact_transactions and fact_governance_votes, we were able to extract the number of TXs and the number of voters that were the first time, and then using the average of these two tables, we reached 22.92, which was the average of the days when wallets They have registered their first transaction or vote.

The chart below shows the percentage of votes for the proposal. 58.1% of the following chart voted between 0 and 5% for the proposal and 17.2% of them voted between 10 and 25% for the proposal.

The chart below is the proposal they chose to vote for, now we want to look at the percentage of those who voted for these choices. 58.1% of them voted from 0 to 5% and 17.2% of them voted from 10 to 25%

    Chart:

In the chart below, we look at how many days it takes for a wallet to make its first transaction. We categorized these wallets on different days and obtained the percentage of each.

As you can see in the chart below, 34.1% of these wallets made their first transaction on osmosis on the same day, but 27% of these wallets took 1 to 10 days to make their first transaction and 38.9% of these wallets It took them more than 10 days to register their first transaction.
