Friktion SOL vs mSOL Volts

Friktion offers an income generating covered call product to users. A covered call option involves holding a long position in a particular asset, for example, SOL, and writing a call option on that same asset with the goal of realizing additional income from the option premium. How much SOL was deposited during the February 4th and February 11th epochs and how many unique users were in the SOL covered call volt? How much mSOL was deposited during those same epochs and how many unique users were in the covered call volt? Why do you think one volt has been gaining more adoption than the other?

    What is Friktion?

Friktion is DeFi's first full-stack portfolio manager - built for DAOs, individuals, and traditional institutions.

DeFi is growing at an unprecedented rate, creating thousands of new projects, assets, and communities. The average existing DeFi user chases yield, largely in units of native token, while taking on various risks. To perform this optimally requires an infinite supply of time and energy in identifying new farms, constructing a portfolio, and actively manage risks (such as correlation, price, and leverage).

    Crypto asset management isn't easy!

Friktion introduces Circuits into the DeFi ecosystem, offering both active and passive portfolio management strategies for DAOs and traditional institutional asset managers . Volts are Friktion's native capital allocation strategies. Circuits provides a set of profit opportunities for user's in the network with or without existing portfolio, finding ways to maximize return on while providing volatility protection and yields in turbulent markets.

    Why Solana?

DeFi on Solana has a distinct advantage of high throughput (tps) at low transaction costs, fast settlement times, which makes it a natural fit for a variety of financial primitives comprising a majority of notional trading volume in conventional markets. In addition, the rate of developer innovation is inspiring and we believe only a glimpse of what is to come.

    What are Volts?

Quantitative yield strategies to generate returns across market environments. Volts allow anyone to invest in and trade products that are built with principal protection, yield generation, and volatility in mind.

    What is mSOL?

mSOL is a liquid staking token that you receive when you stake SOL on the Marinade protocol. These mSOL tokens represent your staked SOL tokens. They act as a receipt, allowing you to exchange them later on for your staked SOL and the earned rewards. Meanwhile, you can use mSOL in DeFi while enjoying your staking rewards.

    Assumptions

    1. For limit February 4th and February 11th epochs block_timestamp::date >='2022-02-04' And block_timestamp::date <= '2022-02-18'
    2. SOL Covered Call Volt token mint: 4Hnh1UCC6HLzx9NaGKnTVHR2bANcRrhydumdHCnrT3i2
    3. mSOL Covered Call Volt token mint: 6UA3yn28XecAHLTwoCtjfzy3WcyQj1x13bxnH8urUiKt
    4. INNER_INSTRUCTION:instructions[0]:parsed:type = 'transfer'
    5. we need to calculate sum(inner_instruction:instructions[0]:parsed:info:amount/1e9)

    Solving The Problem

First question is How much SOL was deposited during the February 4th and February 11th epochs and how many unique users were in the SOL covered call volt?

According to hint in question and assumption, We just need to find sum of amount of rows that satisfy our conditions. That mean have SOL Covered Call Volt token mint: 4Hnh1UCC6HLzx9NaGKnTVHR2bANcRrhydumdHCnrT3i2 and INNER_INSTRUCTION:instructions[0]:parsed:type = 'transfer'

Second question is How much mSOL was deposited during those same epochs and how many unique users were in the covered call volt?

Like the previous question, We just need to find sum of amount of rows that satisfy our conditions. That mean have mSOL Covered Call Volt token mint: 6UA3yn28XecAHLTwoCtjfzy3WcyQj1x13bxnH8urUiKt and INNER_INSTRUCTION:instructions[0]:parsed:type = 'transfer'

Third question is Why do you think one volt has been gaining more adoption than the other?

According to the chart, the deposit of SOL is usually more than mSOL. There are several reasons for this. One of the reasons is that SOL is native coin of Solana blockchain, so naturally more is deposited. The second reason is that many people may not be familiar with mSOL and therefore do not use it. Another reason could be that they do not trust mSOL.

    Additional info

In this part, I added extra info like total SOL and mSOL have deposited and the total number of unique wallets that SOL and mSOL have deposited to have a better view about Friktion.
