Algorand Fees 2022
#Introduction
Recently Algorand turned Three years old; Woot woot!
Algorand been around long enough to be considered as one of leaders and most trustful blockchains on the market. It is known for green consensus mechanism, high speed, and cheap fees. On its third birthday we are going to take a look at some statistics related to its fees.
Methodology & Analysis
In terms of what we are looking to investigate in this dashboard, I can point to three main topics:
- Daily and Cumulative fees in 2022 so far.
- Top Wallets in fees paid and number of transactions.
- Total fee on Algorand since its birth.
I will begin with the first topic; Here is an interesting point:
- Since Algorand base transaction fees are constant (You can choose to increase to fit yourself into most recent block), the chart grows almost linearly and there isn’t any misconfiguration related to congestion or like.

Now, what will interest us by looking at the Top 10 Wallet with the most transactions and the most fees paid?
- The fact that almost every transaction on Algorand costs 0.01 ALGO for fee, is reflected even in top wallets. Not even most of these wallets appear in both charts, but they mostly have 0.01 ALGO per transaction rate. For example, the first wallet had 124,572,091 transactions (Probably a bot!) and 124,572 ALGO paid for fee.
- Can you imagine how much fee would it be if it was on Ethereum?
In the end, you can see how much ALGO was paid for fees in the past Three years which equals almost 300,000$ with the price of ALGO today.
