OpenSea as the biggest NFT marketplace has always supported Polygon as an alternative to Ethereum and Polygon NFTs are very popular in OpenSea. In this Dashboard, we want to see how much OpenSea earned through trading fees on Polygon NFTs since the beginning.

Overall Performance

From April 27th, 2021, until the current date, OpenSea has collected more than 4610 ETH from Polygon NFT trades, which is ~ 8 million dollars with the current ETH price.

Also, there have been ~ 11 million trades in Polygon NFTs.

OpenSea charges 2.5% of the sale amount for fees and there are mainly two contracts that collect these fees.

These wallets are:

the second wallet is fairly new and in this chart, you can see that it started collecting fees on Jun 15th.

It is obvious that OpenSea revenue from Polygon fees has decreased significantly to the lowest levels in almost its entire history.

I have used another method, using another table of polygon database on flipside, to double-check if the numbers are correct.

This time, I summed the entire sale volume and calculated 2.5% of it. Numbers are not entirely identical, but they are close enough so we can trust them.

To find a correlation between factors, I took a look at the daily sale count of Polygon NFT trades on Opensea, and as you can see there is a strong correlation in work here.

And like the daily collected fee, we can see that daily trades are at one of their lowest levels ever.

OpenSea Transaction Architecture

If you are interested to know, take a look at this sample transaction of Polygon NFT trade on OpenSea.

In the Tokens Transferred section, you can see that:

1. this address “0x30ca5c3759b986bb8d324ed2983023710503c99a” sent 0.005 WETH to this address “0x3349d93c5c356c7621c58ce9837be8d2f74cb52f'“ Meaning that first address bought the NFT and Paid with WETH to the seller.

2. after that, the seller sends 0.000625 WETH to this address “0xf715beb51ec8f63317d66f491e37e7bb048fcc2d“ which is OpenSea contract.
3. In the next step, OpenSea contract sends 2.5% of initial sale amount which is 0.000125 WETH to this address “0x5b3256965e7c3cf26e11fcaf296dfc8807c01073” which is fee Collector.
