Flow vs Other L1s
In this Analysis, You will read about Flow Vs other L1s.How does Flow compare to other L1s in terms of user retention? Is a user who made a transaction previously likely to make another transaction a week or a month later? Compare and contrast this type of activity vs other L1s like Solana and Ethereum
Flow is a new blockchain built for the next generation of apps, games, and the digital assets that power them.
I examine the user's behavior for 10 days.
- First, I found users that have transactions between 2022-05-20 and 2022-05-30
- For retention, I examined that those users have transactions in the next ten days. So those users that have transactions again between 2022-06-01 and 2022-06-10, I counted as retention.
I repeated my method for Ethereum and Solana.
Of 231K users that had transactions between 2022-05-20 and 2022-05-30, Only 0.6% of those had transactions again.
Nearly 1.5K users come back for a new transaction on Flow between 2022-06-01 and 2022-06-10.
From 11M users that had transactions between 2022-05-20 and 2022-05-30 on Solana, about 9.08% of those had transactions again.
Nearly 1.1M users come back for a new transaction on Solana between 2022-06-01 and 2022-06-10.
From 2.4M users that had transactions between 2022-05-20 and 2022-05-30 on Ethereum, about 19.1% of those had transactions again.
Nearly 587K users come back for a new transaction on Ethereum between 2022-06-01 and 2022-06-10.
The below chart shows the percentage of retention on each blockchain.
Ethereum has the highest retention in comparison to Flow and Solana. About 19% of Ethereum users came back for a new transaction. The second one is Solana that where 9% of users came back for a new transaction. Flow has the lowest retention in comparison to Ethereum and Solana. Only 0.6% of users came back for a new transaction.
