Keypom and Icebreaker Analysis!

    Introduction

In this analysis, we will delve into Keypom and Icebreak on the Near chain. Numerous projects within the NEAR ecosystem utilize Keypom and Icebreak as tools to acquire new users. These two applications provide users with links that can be exchanged for $NEAR when initiating a new wallet through the provided link.

Keypom and Icebreak are designed with the purpose of onboarding newcomers to web3 and are distributed during gatherings, events, or online interactions.

I went through These platforms and analyzed these parameters:

    • The total count of generated links.

    • The overall count of links that have been redeemed.

    • The percentage of these newly created wallets that exhibit activity by conducting

    • Their Activiites after Redeem

    Who is New User?

The newcomers in question are distinct from those who created wallets solely to redeem drops. Upon entering Keypom, users are required to link their wallets and settle the allowance fee. I classified these addresses as novel users on the platform, possessing the capacity to create drops.

    Overview

According to the given criteria, the most new users joined Icebreak and Keypom, with Keypom contributing to 99.5% of this number, all in May 2023. It appears that an event took place during that period, resulting in a significant surge in new user sign-ups. At that time, the daily count of new users even reached as high as 2.5K.

However, when looking at the bigger picture, there were only 83 new users in the past 30 days, with an average of 2.9 new users per day.

Note: Icebreak had low activity, making it inappropriate to draw comparisons with Keypom. I treated both platforms as a single entity. Only Know that the majority of transactions were concentrated solely within the Keypom platform.

The total count of creators is restricted, and it seems that most of the platform relies on Keypom or Icebreak to generate drops for their users. Since the beginning of the new year, there have been around 145 creators, each producing an average of 19 drops.

What's intriguing is that the number of different creators per day has been increasing since January 2023, especially in recent times. These creators have collectively generated nearly 13,000 drops, with the highest number of drops being created in May 2023.

Note: Keep in mind that each drop could encompass multiple spots. This means that a link might include 1000 spots, but it's counted as one drop in this context.

    Deopsit Amount

I analyzed each drop and discovered that creators have deposited a total of 7,600 NEAR since January 2023. As you might already know, drops can be claimed by users and may include NEAR tokens or NFTs. Creators deposited this amount of NEAR, averaging 10 NEAR per creator. This indicates that they had a plan to distribute this NEAR to users as an incentive to attract them.

    Breakdown

Less than half of all creators, specifically 33% of the total, crafted only a single drop. The second largest cluster of creators, constituting 18% of the total, produced two drops each.

The most substantial level of activity was observed among creators who generated over 50 drops. Interestingly, there were only 7 distinct creators who managed to create more than 50 drops each.

In the chart below, you'll find a list of the top creators. Notably, the first position is held by Sharddog, associated with the Shard Dog collection. For additional information, you can visit their website: https://shard.dog/
