In this analysis, You will read about Tornado Cash addresses. I went through Tornado wallets and examine their activities in the last year.
Tornado Cash is in the news due to the sanctions imposed by the US government and the freezing of $75K of USDC from Circle. The addresses tied to the service have been publicly posted online.

I examined these parameters:

What is Tornado Cash?
Tornado Cash is a mixer, a protocol designed to pool funds in an effort to obfuscate the origin of any given transaction.

Method

From the website Hint, I found tornado addresses from the DIM LABEL table with ‘Torando Cash’ label.
Balances: I used my finding in the Balance table and calculated their current balances based on 2022-08-10.
Transactions: I used the transactions table and put my findings in to_address and counted all transactions.
Volume: We have two tables with symbols and the amount USD. EZ ETH transfer and EZ token transfer. I used those tables to calculate volume, Symbols, and ETH breakdown.
Based on the question, I calculated each parameter in the last 30 days, 6 months, and 1 year.
The total transactions in the Transactions table were a little different with EZ ETH and EZ token. So I chose a transactions table for counting TXs and two other tables for volume.
I Also examined the fact token transfers but I couldn’t find ETH transactions in there.

The Top two addresses are their Router and Helper addresses. It seems these two addresses handled their transactions. Due to that, The top two addresses in the last 30 days, 180 and 365 days were those addresses. Also, We can add Their Proxy address to those default addresses. Based on their symbol addresses, TRON is in third place in all three categories.

We already know that most transactions were received. Almost 99.8% of transactions were receiving tx. The cumulative transactions are 443K. I divided their transactions into days of the week and understand their most activities were on the weekend and their lowest activities were thursday.

Since 2020, There were 448K transactions to Tornado cash addresses. Only 1141 transactions were made by Tornado Cash addresses.
Most activities of Tornado addresses were between January 2021 and August 2021. After that time the total transactions decreased to 400-500 daily. Recently, Their receiving transactions increased to above 600 TXs. The highest transactions occurred on March 31th 2021. The highest number of transactions in 2022 happened on July 27th with nearly 1.2K transactions. It seems their daily transactions didn’t decrease and keep their activities over time.

In the last 30 days and 6 months, their Router address had the highest volume. Although it seems this address handled their volume into other addresses. The top second address is 100 ETH address in the last 30 days and 6 months. Also, This address was the top address last year. The third address in the last 30 days and 6 months was the 10 ETH Tornado address. This address was in fourth place last year. The fourth and fifth addresses had changed in the last 30 days.

It seems most transactions were 0.1-1 ETH in the last 30 days. Almost these amounts of ETH were in 3.8K transactions with a 51% share.
The second group was 0.01-0.1 ETH which was in 37% of transactions in the last 30 days. 11% of transactions had 10-100 ETH.

Since the beginning of Tornado, 0.1-1 ETH was in 47% of transactions. The second large group was 0.01-0.1 ETH which 34K transactions transferred

these amounts of ETH. In the end, the last group with 10-100ETH was involved in 29.9K transactions.

The interesting that I found is that most projects faced a huge decrease in their user’s activities but Tornado addresses activities didn’t change since January 2021. The total daily transactions were near 400-500 TXs and lately was even more than that.
Their 100 ETH address had the highest Volumes in the last 30 days and 60 days.
