Trader Joe's: A Hub of Trade Activities!

    Introduction

As a result of Trader Joe's launch on the Ethereum chain, this analysis delves into swap activities carried out on Trader Joe across various chains.

Starting in early August, Trader Joe integrated a new chain - Ethereum - to its platform. Presently, Trader Joe provides support for four chains: Avalanche, Arbitrum, BSC, and Ethereum.

In this study, I thoroughly explored Trader Joe's operations and scrutinized the following parameters:

    • Overall activities on Trader Joe across all supported chains.

    • Breakdown of users and transactions on a per-chain basis.

    • Examination of trading volume and transaction fees specific to each chain.

    • Assessment of Trader Joe users' engagement with othe dApps.

Prior to examining the breakdown of Trader Joe's performance across different chains, I conducted a comprehensive analysis of Trader Joe's operations across all supported chains.

Data: The dataset comprises transactions made on Trader Joe since the initial transaction on Ethereum took place on August 3, 2023.

In total, since August 2023, Trader Joe has garnered the participation of 206,000 unique users, facilitating trades amounting to a total of 520 million US dollars through 626,000 transactions. Notably, it appears that the number of daily users has experienced a decline from 30,000 to 18,000 per day, possibly influenced by prevailing market conditions. Conversely, during rapid declines in BTC and other token prices, the cumulative trading volume on Trader Joe surged, reaching a peak of 41 million US dollars. In periods preceding and following this anomaly, the daily traded volume on the platform ranged from 12 to 30 million US dollars.

Over the past month, users have collectively expended 114,000 US dollars in transaction fees, averaging around 0.2 US dollars per transaction. On August 17, amidst a market crash, the average transaction fee surged to 0.8 USD.
