Transaction Failures
Osmosis (OSMO) is an automated market-making protocol (AMM) that specializes in the InterchainDeFi movement and is built on its own blockchain, utilizing the Cosmos SDK and IBC technologies.
First from smosis.core.fact_transactions table, I found failed tx ids and amount of Fees. Then Joined to osmosis.core.fact_msg_attributes to find type of transactions.
The below chart shows the total daily Failed Transaction on Osmosis in the last 4 months. What I understand is that tx and transfer are the same and coin received and coin spent are the same too. Until May 8th, The total number of Failed transactions was normal. From March 1st until May 8th the average of failed transactions was below 20K in each type of transaction. But after that time, the total number of failed transactions in each type increased significantly. The Crypto Market crashed a week between May 8th and May 15th. The price of all tokens in all networks dropped badly due to the UST/Luna. In each network Total number of transactions increased heavily. So because of network congestion, So many transactions failed on Osmosis.
In the previous chart, We have seen the total number of failed transactions but in this chart, we are gonna see the total Fee amount because of Failed transactions. As you can see, The trends are similar to the previous chart. The average total fee amount was between 50K and 100K from March 1st until May 8th. But after that, the total fee amount increased.
The cumulative daily chart shows how failed transactions increased from May 8th on Osmosis. The Cumulative number of failed transactions reached nearly 5x under a week!
In the below chart, You can see the share of the total number of failed transactions on Osmo in the last 4 months. Nearly 27% were tx and transfer transactions. About 18% was for coins spent and received. The 9% was for message transactions.
The share of total fee amounts from failed transactions are similar the previous chart.
Because of the Market crash, The request for transactions increased significantly. So too many transactions faced failed on Osmosis. As we examined, The most failed transactions were for Tx and transfer and both of them have about 50% of total failed transactions.
