Introduction

What is FLOW?

Flow (FLOW) is a high-performance blockchain specifically for creating NFTs, massive crypto games, and apps. Unlike general-purpose blockchains such as Ethereum, Flow is built to efficiently scale for potentially billions of people interacting with NFTs like in-game items. The native token for the flow blockchain is the FLOW token.

What are NBA Top Shots

NBA Top Shot is an NFT marketplace where sports fans can buy, sell and trade basketball video clips. Launched in 2020, NBA Top Shot is a partnership between the NBA and Dapper Labs, the creators of CryptoKitties.

Methodology

We will look at the Sale volume of NBA top-shots and all other NFTs on flow blockchain Since April 2022. To see if the NBA playoffs had an effect on the sales of NFTs on flow we will compare the sales in mid april to the rest of 2022.

Observations

Both the number of Topshot sales volume and number has been decreasing since April 2022. During April there were 20,000 - 40,000 sales daily worth between 400 - 800 Million FLOW. Since then the sales have dropped to about 4,000 sales per day with volume of 50,000 - 100,000 FLOW.

Conclusion

In both volume and sales then activity in non NBA TopShot NFTs on Flow was more than 2x more active than usual during the NBA playoffs in mid april. and since the fins the sales and volume of all Flow projects has been slowly declining. During April there were 20,000 - 40,000 sales daily worth between 400 - 800 Million FLOW. Since then the sales have dropped to about 4,000 sales per day with volume of 50,000 - 100,000 FLOW.
