What is Solana?

Solana is a public blockchain platform with smart contract functionality. Its native cryptocurrency is SOL. Solana offers low fees and fast transaction times. Solana smart contracts are written in Rust rather than solinity. sonal is one of the fast blockchains with the lowest transaction fees.

What is Orca?

Orca (ORCA) is a Solana token that governs the Orca decentralized exchange. Orca aims to enable low-fee, near-instant token swaps using an automated market maker (AMM) model. On the exchange, users supply tokens to “liquidity pools” and algorithms set market prices based on supply and demand.

Observations

The top 4 assets that are being swapped on Orca are USDC, WSOL, GST, and GMT. These four assets make up over 80% of the swaps on Orca in total. There was a huge spike in Orca use in May and June of this year. Since then the number of daily swaps have dropped drastically, and is now at the same level that it was in January of this year.

Conclusion

There have been nearly 1,000,000 wallets using Orcas over its lifetime. The top wallets have made between 0.5 Million and 1.5 Million swaps on Orca over their lifetime. There was a huge runup in Orca users from March 2022 to the end of May 2022, and since then the active swappers on the platform have dropped from 150,000 a day to 1,500 a day.
